After Shave: Saponificio Varesino Opuntia After Shave
Late day shave after the bike ride today.
The Saponificio Varesino Optuntia was up. I'm not 100% sold on this scent. Strength of scent was a 2 of 5 on the puck and bloomed a 3 of 5. The scent lasted for the shave. It nice but there is something in it that just doesn't quite agree with me. I don't dislike it, just don't love it. I don't really pick up any individual scents except for what I don't like, and I can't identify it. Just something doesn't quite fit for me. I may be looking to trade this, haven't decided yet.
Performance wise, well it is SV! No problem lathering it using the SV method. The lather is super slick, cushion/glide is excellent, residual slickness is top notch, no stability issues, and the scuttle heat didn't effect it.
3 passes with the Buck and I did chase the baby today, which resulted in more than normal alum sting, but no irritation. Did pick up a slight bite with when I let the toe dig in just a tad. No seepage, just 1/8" stripe.
I finished with the After Shave. Great performance. Strength of scent is a 2.5 of 5. Longevity about 3 hours.
Setup 6-27-2018
Went for a bike ride also today.
On the home front, I've been suspended from work for 2 days. Long story short I did violate the SOP, but they did really have to nit-pick to find anything. The real problem is this got blow way out of proportion and went way, way, too far up the ladder, and too many people were brought in for someone not to have to take the fall. So me and my working partner got a couple of days of unplanned vacation. Also all of those that were evaluating this have no knowledge as to what was actually going on. Bottom line my partner and I made a judgement call, which in their eyes was unsafe, and we are being punished for it. The actual event was viewed as being unsafe, but I've been in similar situations before. I've been doing this type of work since the late 80's. I do not do stuff that is unsafe! The official paper work says we didn't barricade the work area, which we never have done, nor was I trained to do so, but it is in the SOP. No one was injured, no equipment was damaged, but we didn't call anyone, and let them know what was going on. We decided there was no reason to, because it wasn't unsafe, in our opinion, and besides no one would be there before us the next morning and nothing could be done before then. However my bosses boss didn't view it this way. Even the "expert" contractor that was called in to fix the situation didn't understand what the big deal was. He was like no big deal, I've seen this many times. I even talked to a licensed engineer and asked him if were we wrong in our actions or in danger and he said no. Oh well it is what it is. I voiced my opinion at all 3 meetings about this, and until the actual suspension meeting they had not found anything that we did wrong that was in the SOP, nor did we violate any OSHA guidelines. Everyone, at the lower level, agreed that we just made a bad call. So we screwed up and now we are paying the price.
So I made the best of the day, slept in, messed around on the internet, bicycle ride, shave, and now I'm unwinding at the cigar lounge.
When I go back to work Friday, guess who is going to be the most by the book, OSHA (I'm OSHA 30 certified) guide line following employee they have?
Sorry to bother you with my venting here. Hope all the cadre members had a better day!
