OK, major elephant in the room, shoot straight with me now...what’s the deal with GTB? Is this like one of those Tabacaveg things or is it genuinely a soap every here enjoys? What’s the scent profile for you?
Dude! Did you just question GTB? I can't beli.....I can't even.....what????

Lol! Can’t blame a guy for being cautious in a group that enables all things shaving!

The love for GTB comes from the fact that is barbershop+ if that makes sense. The scent is more complex than a standard barbershop and is just loved.

Great shaves Craig! I have to ask, Who is the knife and sheath maker of that Damascus fixed blade? Just a beautiful setup. I love your other knives as well. You must be my brother from another mother because guns, knives and razors are my passions as well. I went through everything pretty quick, so I have to go back through them. I got so into your pictures that I did not stop to read.

Thanks Walt! The mark on the knife is HK DERR, Herb K. Derr if I remember correctly.
Great catch up posts
Thanks Don!

Straight Razor Shave #169

Pre Shave: Bulldog Original Face Wash
Razor: Grandad's Union Razor Cutlery Co.
Brush: Whipped Dog Synthetic
Soap: Arko
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Pitralon Original After Shave

Had seen some entries about Arko and it had been a while since I used it so it was selected today.

Arko just performs excellent for me. Easy to lather, slick, and great residual slickness.

3 passes with the Union and some clean up and I'm BBS. Did manage to get a couple of weepers. Just a tad bit of alum sting.

Finished with the Pitralon Original. Good Stuff! I think this is the same as the Pitralon Pure. Their website shows an Original as the same, but it is sold in Austria. The scent is very close to the Swedish version. The ylang-ylang is not as present, and it more floral and woody to me. I like it. Scent lasted about 2 hours. Strength was about 2 of 5.

Setup 6-13-2018

As you may remember I have been battling a flat tire on my bicycle. I thought it was tubeless and ordered the stuff to fix it. Then found out it had a tube so I ordered a couple of tubes. I went with Continental Tubes, they seemed to have good reviews. The tubes came in and I finally got around to replacing both the front and back about a week and 1/2 ago. I went inside after replacing them to change into the riding attire and fill my water bottle. As I was filling the bottle I heard BOOOM. What the crap was that? Well....

Yes this is what I found!! What the crap! It actually split on the rim side, not the tire. So there shouldn't have been any thing to puncture it. I did feel before hand. Must have been a defective tube. I know it wasn't over inflated because I use a pump. So I had to reorder and wait.

The tube came in the other day and I replaced it. Now I have two successful rides under my belt. I need to do at least 3 or 4 a week.

Had planned on a ride today, but had to work late, so didn't have time.

Dang...I guess it’s good it blew at home and not on the trail!

Glad your back up and running!

This is True! My normal ride is starts at my house and goes though my neighborhood and a couple of others, so no major traffic issues. I have to cross a major street and that can be a pain as it is normally during rush hour either coming or going. Once I'm across it though I'm on a paved multi-use trail for the rest of the route, till I get back to the street. So if it had of blown, at most I would have been about 5 or 6 miles from home. That is assuming I didn't wreck and break something!

Glad to see you got your bike up and running. That is a great daily ride.

Nice read Craig. I go to a cycling class at the gym twice a week... does that count?

Nice write-up and shave with Chad's favorite soap. LOL

Great bike rides as well, something I really need to get back into.

Those are some decent rides!
Thanks Don! I plan on adding alittel more distance. Then it'll be about just getting the heart rate up and keeping it there for a while.

Chad is that a Spinning Class? If so then yes, that is one of the best cardio exercises I've found, other that an actual ride.
Nice write-up and shave with Chad's favorite soap. LOL

Thanks Josh!

That's a sweet app you're using there. Now, can we discuss switching your from Diet Pepsi to Diet Cherry Pepsi?

Thanks Dave. I use Runkeeper. As to the Pepsi switch, I don't drink Pepsi, I'm a Diet Coke drinker, when I have one.

The bicycle repair and rides are inspiring me! I have a Mountain Bike that was a casualty of the Flood in August of 2016. It's a really good bike that I know can be fixed up. It's been hanging in my garage crying out to be repaired and ridden again. With the energy that I have had because of my weight loss and dietary changes, I think it is time to take the bike apart and see what I need to do to clean, replace and repair what I can. We have some novice bike trails close to where I live and I think it's high time I tried them out! Thanks Craig for the inspiration!

Your Welcome! Glad to be of help Don!

Well I've spent the last 6 hours, 5 at the cigar lounge and 1 after I got home catching up on all my journal reading. Now I just have to catch up on my own journal posting.

Then there are these videos to watch and my own that I'm currently working on editing, then I want to do a 7 deadly sins one. That should get me all caught up, oh crap no wait I have the Hess restoration to finish, but that should do it.....nope crap I have this other shaving related project to start on also.
