Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Just put a Variant on my Amazon wish list. We'll see what my birthday and Christmas bring this year.

The Variant is one of my favorite razors. I really do enjoy it.

Nice shave Chad. Another soap maker I gotta try, you guys are killing my stash for a Paladin !!

I would get the Paladin first. I will get one, one day.

It is near heavenly not to have to bother with diapers any more! All three of my boys were spaced out so that I had to wipe butts for about 8 years straight. I’ve pretty much seen it all at this point from am expelled fluids stand point. What’s more, my wife always had a hard time doing it, she claimed “gag” most of the time and passed em to me if I was present.

Glad the soap was a solid win!

Yea the diaper game is not fun at all. Our only hope is that the little girl is showing a lot of interest in the toilet already so maybe she will potty train early. We shall see.

Nice shave. I need to pick up a Variant and try the Jeeves.

Thanks Doug. I am confident that you would like both!

Nice shave with Jeeves, Chad! Going to get to the video here shortly...

Thanks Josh!

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Soap/cream: Storybook Soapworks Hallward's Drean
Brush: Razorock Beehive
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Aqua Velva Original Sport

Well today's shave is thanks to Chris CMH737. Thank you for sending me this sample I was excited to see this included as this soap maker has been on my watch list for awhile now. I really enjoyed the shave and the lather was very good. This scent was not perfect for me. It states that it is sandalwood and musk with citrus notes predominantly bergamot. It was nice but the best way I can describe it is sour smelling, but spoiled sour just sweet sour. The shave was good enough that I will be looking to try and find a scent that seems more interesting to me so I can order a tub of this stuff. I don't usually do a full review from samples because I don't feel it is fair to do, but I will say I was very impressed. A video will be posted soon.

Homefront:

Nothing crazy going on here. Actually a storm rolled in yesterday evening and I got to watch the lightning strike. Sadly it was a dry storm not a lot of rain. And it did spark a fire on the other side of the mountain from me in the Tooele valley. This evening we have our monthly KoC meeting and looking forward to see how that goes. Not much going on here. Hope you all have great day Cadre.

Lightning absolutely amazes me. One of those "gives you perspective on where you stand in this world" sort of things.

Sour smelling? Sour? Kidz these days I tell ya!

Sour like lemon sour lol.

Nice shave. The scent of that one definitely sounds interesting, but not necessarily in a good way.

It isn't horrible. Just not something I would like to use on a daily basis.

Good shave Chad. Hope the meeting later goes well!

Thanks Chris.

It certainly does. I always enjoy watching it.

Interesting take on the scent, Chad. I think Dave hit the nail on the head with that gif, however. ?

If you're saying that the soap performed well, (subtly of course), now I feel obligated to get a tub. LOL

Nice shave Chad. Bummer about the scent.....

Well here is someone who getting sent some Utah Tumbleweed LOL!

Caught up with some posts but not all. great reviews on the soaps man. Looks like the summer is treating you and the family well.

That is a soap maker I want to try at some point. I tend to like what Chris CMH737 likes so I can lean on him for advice.

Thanks Tom.

Chad's been smelling way too many tumbelweeds!

I think you will end up liking it. The lather is very good.

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Astra SP (2)
Soap/cream: Soap Commander Motivation (cucumber and bamboo)
Brush: Fine Stout
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Aqua Velva Balm
Cologne: CO Bigelow Sea Salt Mimosa

Well woke up and didn't make any choices yesterday on the shave so I headed over to the corner and grabbed a few items. The SC Motivation is a new soap that I haven't used yet. In previous releases I have missed this one and decided to finally grab a tub. I really enjoy these light fresh scents and plus it is Soap Commander so it is going to give me a superb shave. Those of you that can't get this stuff to work I just don't get it. The shave was just great BBS+ for sure, as the Astra SP blade now gets into its prime.

Well the KoC meeting went long last night as we discussed the new fiscal year budget and had to make adjustments to certain line items after some unexpected expenses popped up that we took on to assist the school at our church. The contractor we go through to feed the students backed out last minute. School starts in a month! So it was a tad frantic to get a new company to come in with a program that nutritionally sound. We as a council opted to help pay the difference to the new supplier to prevent these costs falling back onto the parents. The joys of private school I guess. Thankfully with the grant from the state, the amount the school pitches in, and what we are pitching in the overall price isn't that dramatic, but it caused some debate. Anyways back the grind. Hope you all have a great day today Cadre.

Hm, Soap Commander in the corner...imagine that!

Glad the meeting went well, school crisis averted! I’m sure an unexpected price increase for the parents might have started a little wildfire...

Hope the kids like the food. Our poor kids would rather take the same sandwiches to school day after day than eat what the school serves. Well back in my day we had awesome rectangle shaped pieces of pizza and hoagie sandwiches.
