Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Razor: Colonial General
Blade: Feather ProGuard (8)
Soap/cream: Lisa's NHC #6 Sample
Brush: Stirling Kong
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: AV Balm

Well not going to to get into too much detail on the soap as that isn't fair to Lisa when she is testing different formulations. All I'll say is that she is on the right track to make something VERY special. The overall shave went very well today and I am BBS for the 4th.

Homefront

We called an audible. The state is extremely dry this year and they started asking people to not light off fireworks in the neighborhoods due to how dry everything is. So yesterday we had a small BBQ. Today still going to go visit my grandma but afterwards we are heading to the AAA Baseball game. The Salt Lake Bees. They have a firework show after the game and honestly this might be a new tradition because the tickets, parking, and food should still be cheaper than the $100 we would spend each year on personal fireworks. I love going to the Bees games so much so that before kids Megan and I used to do a season ticket package that gave us every home game that landed on Friday and Saturday. I would love to do that again.

Anyways happy 4th everyone stay safe and cool!

Good shave Chad!

Fireworks are so darned expensive...fun for sure, but expensive! I’ll be honest lately it’s pretty much only the big professional displays that get me excited anyway. I rather enjoy having a good show now, without the cleanup, far away from the poor house pets.

Enjoy your 4th with the family.

I would love to go to a minor league baseball game. i have heard they are so much fun. Plus...tickets for the four of you plus refreshments and food for under a $100...that's a good deal!

Catching up Chad!

Nice shaves, pictures, and reads!

Glad you'll had a good camping trip!

I think swim lessons are a better idea than soccer for Connor! He'll get more benefits from them in the long run IMHO.

Have a great time at the Ball Game!

Oh yeah

Was way behind getting caught up. Great shaves, basketball stories, and camping pictures. Congratulations on 200.
Sorry couldn't help myself. Go ahead and make a Utah joke and that we all have multiple wives lol
Sorry, I can't help myself. They say that the Utes built their cry room to help with anxiety during finals week, but after watching them play, we know the real reason.

Thanks Chris. And that was our thought process on the fireworks. Why spend $100+ to buy fireworks that aren't going to be as good as the professional show. While I am exhausted we made the right choice!

We LOVE going to the Minor League games. Our stadium was rated best Minor League ballpark in the US like 3 years ago. IT really is a great experience.

That stupid cry room LOL. Apparently it was done as a study but I say an embarrassment for sure.

Well I hate to admit it and it hasn't happened in a LONG time. But I missed a shave on a work day today. The baseball game went extra innings yesterday and the home team lost sadly but we had a great time. But that meant I was home around midnight and after transferring the passed out kids from the car to their beds, feeding the animals, playing with the puppy, and trying to relax for a solid minute. The 4:45AM Alarm clock came mighty early. So I hit snooze something I NEVER do. And slept through my shave time.

We had a such a good time though yesterday with my grandma and at the baseball game. Because we decided so late to go to the game the seats where all sold out so we had to do general admission in the outfield but it was still a great time. Here is a pic of our ballpark

Not filled in yet but trust the place was hopping. And this is where we sat.

Then as tradition at ballparks on the 4th of July, during the 7th inning before singing the beloved Take Me Out. They play the God Bless America. Connor was very excited to put his arm on his heart, and even joined in on the USA USA USA! Chant.

We truly had a great time

Minor league baseball is MOST excellent! Glad y'all had a good time.

And bummer about that soap not meeting expectations - but alas, they all can't be "elite".

Sounds like a good time. Since it was for the family, I guess we can let the miss shave slide.

Most excellent, Chad! That's pretty cool that you're starting that tradition with the family...minor league baseball is a great time, and relatively inexpensive; especially when compared to it's major league big brother.

Oh the humanity...an unshaven Chad AT WORK. Good thing you only grow a neck beard or you might get sent home for looking too scruffy.

And about lisa's #6, what was your take on the scent? I am not sure she is testing the scent so much as the overall recipe but I found that scent intriguing.

Thanks Chris. We always enjoy our time at the ballpark!

Truly was thank you.

Great time with the family!

Certainly

Fun time with family trumps shave time in the morning every time. Nice pic

Exactly!

Great seats for the show! Glad it was a good time.

Thank you!

MLB compared to Minors is crazy the prices they can charge. But there is something just VERY American about being at the ballpark eating a hotdog and drinking an ice cold beer!

Oh i'm scruffy alright LOL!

As to the scent I didn't focus too much on it, but to my nose I was thinking Sweet Bay Rum. What did you get?

Because I like blowing stuff up myself!

Hard to argue with that logic.

I like it to, but it didn't seem right this year with 7 forest fires going strong in Utah. Woke up today and the valley is FULL of smoke. Smells like a campfire outside. We need rain BAD! One of the fires has destroyed 90 homes, is on top of a ridge where the winds are so bad. They seriously are saying it might burn til winter. It is 4% contained. We had to cancel a camping trip because one of my wife's and I favorite campgrounds is burned to the ground. It doesn't exist any longer.

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (1)
Soap/cream: BlueBell Tallow Test
Brush: Stirling Boar
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Floid Blue

Well today I grabbed a soap that sadly never made it to production. I was working with the owner's of BlueBell testing out a tallow formula they created. And this was the finished product. I was going through final reviews when I received the email that job situations changed for the brothers and sadly they opted to end the soap business. It was sad to see because they had so much potential. Oh well I have a soap that does not exist beyond this one. Unless they have some which is entirely possible. Anyways I got a great shave. A BBS+ performance which is great after skipping yesterday.

Homefront

So as mentioned the state of Utah is on fire. The Dollar Ridge Fire is wreaking havoc. Sadly there is no end in sight. Bless those firefighters who are trying desperately to keep it away from more homes. The plan today is to call bingo tonight at the KoC weekly function. Then tomorrow celebrate my mom's birthday. Then they leave to head to Fort Knox for my Uncle's change of command ceremony. I wish we were going but we opted to put our summer fun money into the trailer and camping. But after seeing the weather reports I think we made the right choice.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Nice shave Chad. Looks like it was a boar day for you too. Hope the firefighters get a break. I still remember camping as a youth with my family. Your kids will look back on these memories with fondness. Have a great day.

An unobtanium soap - very nice, Chad!

Safe travels to Ft. Knox.

Those are hard working, under paid, and under appreciated folk - they're heroes in my book.
