Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Razor: El Jefe
Blade: Captain Mild Titan (3)
Soap/cream: LEA Shave Stick
Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Avon Island Lime

Well today was another go with the El Jefe and nothing new to add on that front. The LEA shave stick had its first use and while the lather was on the thin side to my liking, it was plenty slick and provided a very nice shave. I really enjoyed it. I also really like the scent. This won't de-throne my La Toja from my favorite shave stick spot but it deserves to be in the discussion.

I wrapped up with Island Lime and am ready to tackle the day.

Nothing crazy to report. After meeting with the Pediatrician yesterday we were told that since she isn't breaking out in a rash they can't do a simple skin test to see if the amoxicillin is what's causing the problem. But there is enough info that they feel confident saying she is amoxicillin resistant. So we will still meet with an ENT and an allergist but we can't do that until this infection is gone. Thus the 3 days shot treatment. She had one yesterday so two more to go.

As parents we never want our children in discomfort or to suffer. I hope and pray that the physicians are able to provide relief, and that you guys can get back to normal real soon.

nice shave Chad...and it's good to hear that the pediatrician is taking such an active role in Sadie's care. The shots will hopefully deal with the infection in short order, and from there you hopefully will get some definitive answers.

Ah the complexities of health, medical professionals, and the healthcare system. As if an illness weren’t aggravating enough on its own. I’m glad things are moving for you though. Kudos for knowing how to take care of your family.

Good shave too. I haven’t tried Lea, but I do have La Toja, it is one heck of a soap!

I know nothing about the Knights, but I will say, that if others that know you and the work that you do are asking for you to lead them, that speaks volumes.

Definitely a lot on your plate right now, Chad. Hoping for the best on all fronts!

Thanks Chris.

Thanks Walt. As are we... This has really been stressing her out, especially with starting summer semester soon for her Master's.

Thanks Josh. We are hopeful we can be over this soon and then get answers to hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Thank you sir, on all accounts.

Hopefully the shots will take care of things. Great Shave Chad!

Thanks Don.

Thank you Dave. And they have convinced my wife. Very smart this group of people... get the wife on board and then the husband usually follows. We will see though.

Nice shave.

It is good to hear there is progress with the doctors.

Thanks Doug.

Nice shaves and read Chad, now for the soap box. Being Catholic and an officer for our Local chapter of the K of C I see a glaring problem right now. GREED and POWER. both of these souls need to re-investigate why they became Knight and are now quibbling over the Lottery. Flogging is needed ( can you tell I am the Sgt at Arms ) LOL.

Here is a thought tell both of them that to ensure they can save their soul that all of it should be donated to the less fortunate in your parish. State that in a open meeting, watch how quick they disappear and POOF you run un-opposed.

My prayers and plan are coming together, LOL. Seriously though these guys need to really look at why and how they are serving the Lord

Git em Dave! Tell em like it is!

Well first off thanks Dave. And second let me just say my wife and I have been talking a lot lately about the commitment, and I have been talking to a lot of fellow brother knights. I will be talking with my priest tomorrow hopefully. But my wife gave me the blessing. Her words, "Yes we are busy but we always find a way to balance things." I certainly hope this isn't the straw that breaks the camel's back because the easiest thing to give up is officiating and I WILL NOT do that. Football and basketball officiating is my time.

So anyways these two gents who are having this quibble they have no idea what they have unleashed. Remember at one time I ran political campaigns, and I was School president in elementary, Jr. High, High School, and in College. I got a CATHOLIC DEMOCRAT elected in UTAH 3 times! (even if you are conservative you have to run on the democrat ticket here if you aren't the predominant faith) Basically what I am saying is I currently have a perfect record. I don't lose. I am already working on my speech for June. I suppose I am doing what I am supposed to.

Razor: El Jefe
Blade: Captain Mild Titan (4)
Soap/cream: Proraso Green
Brush: Stirling Finest
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Proraso Green

Well today was a wonderful shave with the El Jefe again. Thanks to John (the monkey) for allowing me to use it. I am ready to send it on now. The Proraso Green is nearing the end but probably still has 10 or more shaves left I bet. All is good though.

Well when you buy your son a little lawn mower to push around the yard while you are mowing... guess what he wants to mow the yard EVERY DAY!!!! Well I agree to do the back yard with him yesterday as we are supposed to have a storm roll in and have rain through Tuesday. So having the lawn cut will be a good thing. We are trying to get out camping next weekend. I literally just need to buy a battery and then load camping supplies in the trailer then we can hit the open road! We are so excited to get camping as a family.

On the church front as I mentioned to Dave above. I got my wife's blessing to run for Grand Knight. Honestly I am still nervous about taking on this task and adding it to my plate. But I also believe it is the right thing to do. I will find a way to balance it. With that being said I will be going to our council's weekly bingo tonight to network and perhaps call a few games.

Have a happy Friday Cadre!

Nice final shave with the El Jefe, Chad. it sounds like, with some reservation, that you've made a decision to move forward. I think listening to the situation and knowing what the KoC means to you (through your journal) that you're doing the right thing. The reservations you have are a good thing, as it indicates that you are bringing a sense of humility and understanding to the table, which are always a wonderful tool to have in your toolkit.

As far as the fears that it would be too much, I firmly believe that nothing is presented to us that we cannot handle, however challenging it may be. You'll do very well in this endeavor...prayers going forward.

Catching up Chad! I've fallen behind this week!

Great reads, shaves, and pictures!

Cute picture of Connor and the lawnmower on facebook!

Hope that Sadie is feeling better and that you all find out what is the root cause.

Congratulation on the nomination!

That was one heck of a catch up, Chad! Great shaves and some great reads all around. I know you will come to the right place, and continued prayers for Sadie as she deals with the infection.

Thanks Josh. And I have the same belief as you.

Thank you Jim.

Good Luck!
Yay, we've got another caller in the house!

Thanks KJ. We do bingo every Friday. I try to call at least once a month. The other times I am usually helping in the kitchen. Always fun to call bingo.

Nice shave. I hope you have fun at Bingo.

Thanks Doug.
