Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Nice shave Chad, sorry about Sadie, prayers ongoing. KJ sent me a bunch of Avons a few yrs ago and Everest was and is one of my favs, nice pic as well

nice one Chad, interesting that the El Jefe is more aggressive but less efficient than the General .The Avon rabbit hole is one that I'm going to stay out of until I get back stateside on a more permanent basis.

Well I noticed some blade rattle. I wonder if that played into it. I won't pay a lot of Avon mainly because it is so readily available. I am sure shipping it where you are would be cost prohibitive.

BTW...hope Sadie gets better soon. Our youngest is running through the same thing with alternating ear infections and pink eye.

Chad...BOOO! Don't like Everest, what is this world coming to! ?

Really sorry about Sadie. My wife and I will say a prayer for her. I am sure everything will turn out great.

Good luck tonight. At the meeting .

Getting caught up. Congratulations on the future chair.

Sorry to hear Sadie is having problems with ear infections. Elijah had them chronically until he turned 2.

Thanks Josh. It is certainly frustrating. I think we are going to an ENT soon. Plus an allergist to see if she's truly allergic to certain antibiotic drugs.

Thanks Don. So what did you guys end up doing for your son? Tubes? Or just keep treating?

Nice shave, Chad! I am also enjoying your Avon experience. I have one old Avon item, a Little Brown Jug filled with Deep Woods aftershave.

As for Sadie and her ear infections, I can definitely relate. My boys thankfully never had them very badly, but I needed tubes when I was a kid. Hope it is easier to resolve for your little one!

Razor: El Jefe
Blade: Captain Mild Titan (2)
Soap/cream: Proraso Green
Brush: Stirling Finest
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Proraso Green

Well a good shave was had this morning. The blade was much smoother today which means I felt like I really got to test the razor from the passaround. I still call it overly aggressive but not as efficient which is weird to me also.

All in all a good shave and ready for a busy day off from work.

Doctor called us asking to give more antibiotic we said no. So now waiting to hear if they want us to do the shots. My thought process is she isn't running a fever and acting about 90% normal. So I say just treat the symptoms and let her immune system do the work. But we still need answers so more doc appts are in order.

My knights council meeting threw a curve ball and I have a month to decide if I accept the nomination for Grand Knight. Our current Grand Knight is really not doing his job and there are 2 other nominees clearly the council wants change. I'm being told I'm the favorite but still have to decide if I want that responsibility. Lots of prayers coming asking for guidance.

So I took the day off today. I volunteered to go on Connor's field trip today to the city library. So him and I will spend the day together and that means I won't be on as much as I will be spending the day with him. I'll catch up this afternoon.

Have a good day Cadre.

Nice shave with El Jefe...I think I understand where you are coming from as far as aggression vs. efficiency.

IRT the nomination, I'm sure you will find the clarity of thought on whether it is something you wish to pursue, prayers going out to help grease the skids for you.

It's frustrating when the Dr.'s only want to just pump more medication instead of finding out what might possibly be the root cause. We're running into the same issue with our kids, so the best advice I can give is remain steadfast and the answers will come. IMHO, you're doing the right thing, and it's never a bad thing to get a 2nd opinion.

Grand knight sounds mighty important...as long as your interests aren’t ego driven or fueled by a desire to BE mighty important, then you would be running for the right reasons. I assume you would be the youngest Grand Night in your region? Youth can be a powerful tool to reinvigorate an old institution but those old guys (like Dave) don’t always want to follow the young whipper snapper. Good luck.

Sorry to hear of Sadie's malady. My youngest grandson had re-occurring ear infections that they tried treating for quite a while. He ended up with tubes, and it seemed to have taken care of it.

I think you are doing the right thing Dave. My opinion on the current state of western medicine is much like what Josh @Dagwoodz said above...Docs want to treat everything with a medication and seldom want to get to the root of the cause. Sometimes the best course of action is just let the body heal itself. Get to a specialist when you can...but I doubt more antibiotics is really the best.

Nominated for Grand Knight is a big deal! But it sounds like a lot of responsibility. You have a lot on your plate already...it's a tough decision. I sure you will make the right choice. If you decide to go ahead...I know you will CRUSH it!

Have what sounds like a really good time with Connor!

Nice couple of shaves, Chad. The CBL cream is pretty darn impressive, and I enjoyed using it as well. I've got to round out my Avon aftershave collection. I've got three bottles of Spicy and one of Oland. I really need to get the Island Lime and Tai Winds.

Good shave, Chad.

I hope you have a good day with Connor. Good luck with Sadie and the docs. Good luck also with the big decision.

Thanks Josh. Well Sadie's main pediatrician called and wants to see her this afternoon. She knows her best and want to look in the ears, and decide if we should do antibiotic shots. She is also going to write referrals for ENT and an allergist. So regardless we are going to get answers.

Well that's the big problem we have a brother knight who bought a lottery ticket a few years back with his son. They one $1 million. The current Grand Knight is mad because he and the guy who won had a pact that if either of them won more that $5 million they would take care of each other. So the current GK feels like he was left out. So the only reason he wanted to be grand knight and wants to be re-elected is because he doesn't want the other guy to be GK. So it's a mess. And yes I would be the youngest currently by 3 years.

Enjoy your time with the boy!

Thank you. We had a great day.

We have a feeling tubes might be the best option for our daughter.

Thanks Don. We are feeling the same way. But was glad her actual pediatrician called today and wants to see her. Instead of one of the Physician Assistants, who are great but sometimes it is better to see the actual doctor for certain answers.

You definitely need to get Island Lime

Good shave, Chad.

I hope you have a good day with Connor. Good luck with Sadie and the docs. Good luck also with the big decision.

Thanks Doug!

Our son got sent to the ENT because even on the drugs, they kept coming back. He told us that it was probably due to allergies and that the kids that age will often grow out of it. So, we started giving him allergy meds and the ears eventually got better. Now, that being said, down here in East Tennessee, we have a lot more allergens than you do and every kid is different. What worked for my kid may not work for yours. YMMV.

Glad the the Doctor called you back. And definitely glad you all are getting Sadie treated as needed. It's hard to see the little one's in discomfort.

Also...I realized that I called you Dave...If I ever see you...smack me on the head...I wish that on no one!

We have heard the allergy possibility before. That is why we will be meeting with an ENT and allergist to get this all figured out. Thanks for answering though was just curious the route you all ended up on.
