Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Chad that is excellent news! Heck I am inspired by you. As you know I have had my own weight loss journey, but my sniveling little 50 pounds (this is tongue in cheek if you can't tell) pales in comparison to what you have done! Bravo sir! Bravo! I bet you feel great! Anyway...I am very happy you are getting healthy...your kids need you to be around as long as you can. Keep up the great work!

I definitely feel the same way.

I promise I've been reading the posts. But got a picture. Recognized today as on of the youngest deputy Grand knights in Utah.

Sorry brothers still behind on the forum. After a long night of socializing up early to vote on state offices. I will lget caught up tonight and tomorrow. I did have a shave though

Congratulations on the honor. Great pictures and looks like I great shave for today as long as you know who stayed away.

Fellow Cadre members! I am playing the catch up game and firstly thank you all of you for the nice comments, compliments, and banter that has taken place in my journal the last few days. I have read all your comments, and journals; but have not commented in all of them and will not respond individually here, as I do have a busy day at work lined up. But I wanted to make sure everyone knows I appreciate it.

Anyways here is my SOTD

Razor: Merkur 37c
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (1)
Soap/cream: Proraso Green
Brush: Stirling Finest
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Proraso Green

The shave today was very nice, and it felt good to be back in my den. I chose the Merkur mainly because I am still tired and hungover it seems from the weekend LOL and I figured the Merkur is efficient enough to provide a good shave. And it did deliver.

Homefront:

So the weekend recap. Wow what an experience at the State Convention. I really enjoyed the networking, and was practically begged by all State officers to run for Grand Knight at my council. And the State Deputy that was elected at the convention advised me that I should be in his seat in a few years. Oh boy... maybe the networking went too well. I love the Knights so I guess we'll just see where it takes me.

The actual convention was nice as staying at the Marriott and being an Elite Member because that is where we usually stay when traveling for work, so we enjoyed a free upgrade to a suite and they comped my wife a 60 minute massage since we wouldn't be able to use the standard free meal at the restaurant they provide, because we were eating with the Knights for all meals. Megan really enjoyed the treatment and she needed to unwind and relax.

As true Knights fashion we put together a hospitality room where all councils donated alcohol and we all drank for free. But we do have a tradition of doing a 'Shots for Tots' and the shot was someone's homemade Corn Whiskey that came out of the still at 170 PROOF! He cut it down to 120 but my hell that stuff was POTENT and too smooth. This is what caused the spins Saturday night which wasn't good lol, bed at 1:30 AM and had to be up for Rosary session that started at 7AM. Well let's just say we started late and there was a lot of groggy Knights Sunday morning. Megan and I both used ibuprofen to take the edge off.

Anyways a great weekend was had and sadly back to work! Hope you all have a great Monday!

Sounds like a fun, whirlwind weekend!

It must be quite exciting and humbling (and nerve racking) to have so many of your bretheren clamoring for you to continue moving up! You must be doing something right! Way to go!

Homemade corn whiskey, sound interesting. Pretty nice your wife got a massage out of the deal.
