Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Astra SP (3)
Soap: CBL Williams Cream
Brush: Razorock Barrel Brush
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Superior 70th Bay Rum

Well today was a shave of new! So first the cream from Chris. Super slick, lather not as much volume as I prefer, decent post shave, guess what it reminds me of Williams so Chris I would say success. Scent I believe is technically unscented or just standard soap smell. Very interesting on the cream front. I am looking forward to using the other two you sent to me.

The brush, I really like the handle but I wish it was brown... would look more like a Whiskey barrel. Happy to add it to the arsenal.

The razor WOW! Guys for $14.99 buy one. This razor is heavier than I expected and balanced perfectly. The shave was very good also. The double open comb design is supposed to leave lather behind for subsequent clean up strokes. I didn't notice that happen, but I am going to continue using the razor over the next couple days. Initial impressions are very positive though.

Aftershave was pifed to me by KJ (spider) what I really like about this Bay Rum is that it isn't as clove heavy in the scent department. It is a typical alcohol based aftershave and performed well. I am happy with scent longevity so far also.

The shave was very good but I have to say BBS- only because there is a trouble spot on under jawline near left ear and I missed it! DARN!

Homefront:

Nothing crazy to report. My wife had orientation yesterday evening. She is going back to school for her Master's program and is starting this summer semester. She doesn't have a lot of classes remaining and should be finished in a year. So we figured the extra financial burden was worth it, because once graduated she will get a substantial raise. So needless to say the Vargo household gets even busier but somehow we always find a way to balance our lives.

Hope you all have a great day cadre.

Great shave today Chad! Good news on SWMBO going back to school as well, always a worthwhile endeavor. I was looking at those SLOC's before, but have a few things I need to get through before I spring for one of those. It definitely is on "the list" now, however!

I hope Meghan finds the classes interesting, and I hope that the Vargo clan can accommodate the time that she is away and studying. We are in the middle of finals week here. I just went to the bathroom, and I had to wade through a sea of stressed out students. The weather is perfect though, and I know they are just waiting to be done and get home.

Great shave, Chad. The SLOC sounds great, especially the price.

Thanks Doug. At the price I couldn't resists. And honestly it is much nicer than I expected it to be.

Thanks Josh. She has been wanting to go back for a few years. She supported me as I got my Master's so only fair I do the same.

Thanks Walt. And yes I remember Spring Finals. Always significantly harder than Winter finals.

Love the superior 70, great scent and plenty of alcohol.

glad you found the Williams cream intriguing. It was a test to prove a theory, not likely to be duplicated as it is but it could make a nice base to build on.

Great shave and picture Chad!

Good luck to Megan on her Master's!

I can remember my mother going back and getting her's and then she went ahead and got an EDS too. She taught school for 38 years.

All caught up on your great stuff, Chad!

I will say, I am happy you never became a hockey ref, because after some of this crap from Monday's game, I was hating all of them. Just take a peek at some super shady and inconsistent application of the rules, IN THE FREAKIKNG PLAYOFFS:

Thanks Craig. Megan loves her job and if the Master's is going to help then I must support her.

Thanks Jim. And I will be completely honest. The rules of Hockey I do not know at all. I have never even cracked open the rule book lol. I enjoy watching hockey and I think I understand icing and offsides but that's about it. If punches are thrown they get in trouble LOL. Oh I also know if there is a penalty play and you are in the stands it is time to scream loudly lol.

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Astra SP (4)
Soap: Proraso Green
Brush: Stirling Finest
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Proraso Green

Well today I used the SLOC again, and got another excellent shave. The Proraso Green is almost too easy to lather now as I continue on this every other day journey. I think I have this razor figured out after only 2 uses yup that's right BBS today.

Well according to Mr. Fitbit I got just a little over 3 hours of sleep last night. Those of you that have young kids or had young kids at one point, you will understand. Sadie started about 7PM last night throwing EVERYTHING up and it lasted all through the night. She can not keep anything DOWN. A call to our doc who has a 24 hour hotline helped us out which meant a middle of the night run for some drops to put under her tongue to ease her stomach and to pick up pedialyte. I know it might be TMI but it all smells like a sour stomach. Thankfully no throwing up since 3AM but now it's coming out the other end.

So anyways short entry and trying to get a lot done at work today so I can hopefully bow out early and find a nap maybe.

All caught up, Chad. Good luck with your daughter; hopefully it'll be short-lived.

Yep, I do remember those days. Especially killer when you're not the one that gets to stay home with them and still have to go to work.

So sorry Sadie is under the weather. My daughter has having real issues with our 16 y.o. grandson. The challenges change over time, but they are challenges none the less.

Thanks Chris. Just got off the phone with my wife. It appears she has now kept down a piece of toast. So hopefully we are truly on the mend.

So true Dave. Very hard staying focused at work today. Just keep the coffee coming!

Great shave Chad!

Hope Sadie is feeling better!

Thanks Craig.

Thanks Walt. The teen years are a totally different beast, that is for sure. Hopefully everything works out for your daughter and grandson.

Great shave, Chad. I hope Sadie gets well quickly, and that you get your nap.

Thanks Doug. I hope so as well.
