Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Nice shave Chad, though sorry to hear about Sadie. Hopefully it's not something that's persistent...those can get worrying.

Prayers for health and/or healing at your home Chad. Great news on SWMBO going back to school.

Honestly we are wondering if there is a food allergy we are not aware of. It's a long story but her stomach seems to be more sensitive than anyone else in the family. I have a feeling we will be scheduling an appointment with a specialist soon, to try and determine if there is an underlying issue or to confirm that my wife and I are crazy.

Prayers for health and/or healing at your home Chad. Great news on SWMBO going back to school.

Thanks Rich!

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Astra SP (5)
Soap: CBL Cream
Brush: Maggard's Synthetic
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Avon Tai Winds

Well today was another day of new really. I am continuing to use the SLOC by Razorock and I am falling more and more in love with it. I can not believe that some of the BEST and easiest shaves possible are coming from a razor that cost $14.99. Like seriously! What is going on?!

The cream today is another CBL creation. This had a similar consistency to vaseline but lathered like a champ. It started out for me a little airy, but it took on a lot of water and I had a slick mess on my hands all in the best way possible.

I then used the Avon Tai Winds in the cool Whistle decanter which is actually a bad design LOL. After dumping into your hands you have to set the whistle down, and hope none spills out. Can't screw the lid on because the other had has a pool of aftershave. Oh well, I made it work and I am really digging this scent. I saw CBL used Tai Winds yesterday and mentioned short longevity... I am hoping for the opposite effect. So far 2 hours post it is still pretty strong.

Homefront

Well thankfully no more throw up adventures yesterday. And I did get to bed early thanks to the Jazz game being a little earlier. Which they WON by the way! I still don't think the Jazz can beat the Rockets but hey if they push it to game 6 I will be happy! Anyways back to the kids they are doing well. Sadie didn't have much of an appetite at all yesterday which is understandable. Her world is changing, and I feel bad for her. She is transitioning away from breast milk and to cow's milk, my wife had intended to stop right at her 1 year bday but Sadie wasn't ready... but now Megan's body one month after her birthday just can't keep up and she is beginning to lose her milk. So the transition is starting. Lots of screaming, tears, and fits in the Vargo household right now.

Hope you all have a great day.

Nice one today, Chad! Sorry to hear about the stressors back at the home. We didn't wean Kyley off the teat until 13/14 months as well, but had a vacation planned around that time. That made the transition easier as there was a huge change in routine when it happened.

Great shave. I hope Sadie recovers quickly.

Wow. Your Timeless is going to get jealous.

Thanks Josh. And as you know weaning can be very difficult.

Thanks Doug. And nothing can replace the Timeless. It is one of my most prized possessions in my den!

I dunno, I still think the Timeless is prettier

The Timeless is a work of art. And if anyone is wanting to throw down a couple benjamins to buy a DE I will always recommend the Timeless.

Great shave and picture Chad!

Glad to hear Sadie is better!

Thanks Craig!

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Astra SP (6)
Soap: Proraso Green
Brush: Stirling Finest
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Proraso Green

Well today was a nice quick shave with the Proraso green again. The soap is definitely looking less and less but the weight is hovering around 90 grams consistently I have a feeling it is retaining water. I am leaving it uncovered while I am out of town over the weekend to let it dry completely out and hopefully get a better reading.

The razor provided another really good shave but required more clean up, meaning to me the blade is done. So after 6 uses I tossed it. Shave today was a solid BBS no qualms about it.

Well I won't be on much this weekend. The wife and I are heading up to Park City this afternoon for the State of Utah Knights of Columbus State Convention. Being the Deputy Grand Knight of my council this is a requirement to attend. I am looking forward to a good time. This will be the first time we have left Sadie overnight which will end up being two nights. I hope she does well. Her and Connor will be staying with my parents so we know they are in good hands, but my wife is nervous about leaving her that's for sure. But Park City is just 45 min away and my parents have said that if necessary they will drive the kids up for my wife on Saturday while I am in the meetings that spouses do not attend. It kind of couples with everything but I am going to post a weight loss update mainly because it was led me to needing to buy a new suit.

So at my highest weight which I will shamefully post here being 340 pounds, but honestly could have been higher I avoided scales at this point in my life.

but I will say I am 6'3" so I always felt like I carried it well, but I was beginning to tell it was affecting my health. So 18 months ago I decided to sign up for Weight Watchers because my employer pays for it and figured WTH worth a shot. Well my old suit when purchased was a jacket 58L and pants where a 44X36. Well my new suit which came in the other day was Jacket 46R and pants 34X36! My weigh in at the meeting on Tuesday was 244 pounds so I am nearing the century mark, and I have really put a focus on my weight this 2018 year. Since January 1st I have lost 40 pounds. I might be losing it slowly but I am keeping it off and getting great results. I am looking forward to wearing my new suit tomorrow at the dinner.

Anyways as mentioned I won't be on much, I will try and post my SOTD as I did pack some favorites of mine for the two shaves I will be having up there. So have a good weekend CADRE!

Nice shave. Good choice to bin the blade.

I hope you have fun this weekend. Also, many congrats on the weight loss. It is something that I struggle with also.

Chad that is excellent news! Heck I am inspired by you. As you know I have had my own weight loss journey, but my sniveling little 50 pounds (this is tongue in cheek if you can't tell) pales in comparison to what you have done! Bravo sir! Bravo! I bet you feel great! Anyway...I am very happy you are getting healthy...your kids need you to be around as long as you can. Keep up the great work!

Well unconventional post this morning as I am up in Park City and have a busy convention day lined up.

First thank you everyone for the kind comments yesterday and reading along.

Here's my SOTD

It was a good one!

Have a good day Cadre

Great Pick Chad! What? No pic of the slim dude in the new suit? I told my wife when I get down to 240 that I would buy myself a really nice black suite myself. I still have a little less than 40 pounds to go. Enjoy the day!

Chad, once you get your tai winds used up a little more the level will go below the neck and you’ll be able to set it down, without any problem.

Congrats on the Weight Loss! That’s just great. I’m working on myself this year too. Like Don, I started Keto. Loving it so far.

Great couple of shaves, Chad! Have fun at the convention this weekend...

IRT the weight-loss, that's an amazing journey and phenomenal job to stick with it!
