Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Wow... It's been awhile. I'm sorry it's taken so long to get an update here. Let me just say the shaves have been going well no issues there.

Personal life has been crazy with work and football.

We are also dealing with some health issues for Megan nothing overly serious but due to covid and hospital statuses simple things like tests are delayed. Should get answers Wednesday next week.

Personal life we had some family pics done

And those that have been around awhile know that my brother and I had a falling out 6 years ago and we're not on speaking terms. Sadly his life hit rock bottom but, as family is supposed to be we are there for him, and happy to finally be building that relationship back to what it should be.

I'm following along as much as possible but I do fall behind in the journals. Hope you are all well.

Welcome to TSC! Don’t forget to introduce yourself in the Newbie section!

On a more serious note though…really nice family photos! Hope some healing can occur in your family…in all the ways!

Wake up today and realized not a lot of pictures were had over the last few days. Phone was down and was just enjoying actually being around family and friends and feeling relatively safe from this stupid covid world. It felt so good to have @BarberDave @AvocadoQueen and Kona at our home. They are truly family and fit right in. What a great holiday. Already miss Kona and Sharon... And even Dave lol.

We capped off our last evening going to Christmas in Color where you drive through a massive light display. And concluded with teaching Dave and Sharon to play Pinochle which is a Vargo family favorite.

Our Thanksgiving cocktail was a twist on the classic Manhattan which Dave promptly named the Chadhattan. Here's the recipe:

3 generous dashes of black walnut bitters
1.25 oz of sweet vermouth
.25 oz of simple syrup
3 oz of Rye Whiskey

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass, add ice, stir til chilled, then strain into glass, and garnish with 1-2 Luxardo cherries.

Well 2021 has one final screw you. Yesterday I woke up feverish and a mild cough. Fever broke this morning but cough has settled in my throat. Out of caution and that in two weeks we are supposed to go to a wedding in Georgia i opted to get tested. Got results a little bit ago. I am positive. The doctor said that based off being double vaxed and my symptoms being so mild he is 95% sure I have Omicron. Sequencing has not been done and I won't know if it's selected for sequencing so whatever.

Now onto quarantine I've been hanging out in the room away from my kids and Megan. Which you'd think would be nice but it really isn't.

Oh well just a vent so good vibes and prayers appreciated. But like I told Megan so far I've had man cold 10x worse than this.

Doh! As you know we’re dealing with that. The double crappy part is when one person in the family gets it, it’s a while until everyone is in the clear.

Yup, that is the worst part. As long as kids or wife don't exhibit symptoms in next 4 days we should be in the clear. But only so much you can do. Obviously the Omicron spreads very easily

Should be. I tell you our guidelines for employees are that if you’re living in the same house as a positive person with symptoms, your potential exposure lasts their whole 10 days of isolation. So they need to be tested 5 days after that 10 days of isolation is over. In theory 5 days after exposure ends.

We were given some at home tests to keep up on the family to keep track of everyone. So hopefully if it comes we catch it early
