Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Still think you should get the walker with the tennis balls on the legs...you know...to cement your status as the oldest young guy! I know @BarberDave will agree.

Also...my other thought was..."darn kids these days will do anything to get out of doing the dishes."

In all seriousness Chad. I am glad it wasn't any worse. I'll be saying a prayer for you.

Glad to hear you don't need surgery. PT was a lifesaver for my lower back issues. It was 100% more productive than the multitude of doctors and chiropractors I have seen over a 20year period. Hope it works well for you and you have a speedy recovery.

Anyway, I hope he's not pregnant. Could you imagine that on top of a broken tailbone and a torn calf???

Well it's the third anniversary so I figured I would provide an update. Since last posting I have finished up CBL ManThol and the Godrej Lime cream. I started the Wild West Wichita and am really enjoying the shaves and the scent. I don't even know if Wild West Shaving is still around but it is some quality soap.

So anyways my calf is recovering I have had two scans now, and weekly physical therapy sessions. Able to do more and surgery has been ruled out. Have been told I should be cleared for activity at the end of April. But I am doing some activity. I am allowed to do power walking, the stationary bike, and swimming.

It is also Lent which I am doing Exodus 90's lent program which is part of the reason I haven't been on the cadre as much. That is going well and I really feel like I am growing in my faith and community.

As for work life things are not going so great. I have been notified that on April 6th I will be laid off and given a severance package. On that day it will trigger a 30 day period where I can either post for another position within the company or just take the severance and run. The stress is really getting to me, and this is something I have never gone through before. But alas I fear in this day and age we all go through it eventually. I am happy I have a slight heads up, and do have my resume out there and working for me. Hoping something lands soon.

Anyways even though I haven't been on much I truly care about you all. Hoping you all are well and wishing you the best! I am looking forward to catching up on journals after Easter.

Have a good day Cadre and thanks for a great 3 years!

Go to hear from you Chad.
Bummer about the job. Not sure what the atmosphere out there where you are at. But maybe take the opportunity to go into a “Dream Job” Before my current job piloting Daddy’s Girl. Found myself in need of a job.
Sent out my resume to my dream job.
Mr. Hefner sent a nice letter back. Said he “Had plenty of photographers”.
So after a bit of a pity party for myself.
Took this job. But still practice my photography. C2F4E849-ACCB-4CC8-A10A-454711D47839.jpegD892C32C-948E-4CAC-B8F0-D018AFE15FD7.jpegC44BCAA4-5E53-4A2C-A870-9E13E8FCF21E.jpeg480C9E94-603A-4229-8AB0-C3D283450C39.jpeg

Just something about animals in their natural environment.
Rooting for you buddy.
Fluffy.

Certainly happy you are healing up nicely! Hoping you find an adequate internal match so you don’t have to move.

What kind of BS is that! I mean seriously...that is some grade A bullhonkey there. Is it some kind of reorganization or downsizing? I mean...it wasn't that long ago you got a promotion! Chad...if I could punch someone in the face for you I would. And repeatedly! Have they indicated that staying in the company is more than possible, but probable? Or are they really trying to get rid of a sizeable portion of the workforce?

I will definitely keep you in my prayers.

Glad the injury is improving...but I am so PO'd right now about your other situation that it's hard to say anything positive.

It's a reorganization/downsize. I'm torn. I've given so much to this company and I'm good at my job. I've been told "I should be fine" but honestly part of me is wondering if I should just take the package and find another employer. They are combining two departments into one. Going from 150 headcount combined down to 100. Every one gets the package and has to repost.

I'm sorry to hear about the job situation, Chad. It really does seem like loyalty only goes in one direction in the work force sometimes, especially when things like this happen. I'll be keeping you in prayer, and hope that everything works out.
