Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

All caught up, Chad. Good stuff, except the Weck result. I don’t see how y’all use that contraption - LOL

Good write up on the tournament so far Chad. I would imagine that it's just as exciting from an officiating standpoint if the games are competitive. Hope the foot doesn't get too much worse over the remainder of the weekend!

Thanks Chris. They are actually very fun to use.

Just very minor pain but that could be due to the 30k steps my Fitbit recorded.

Razor: Colonial General
Blade: Feather Pro (1)

Brush: Maggards Synthetic

Aftershave2: Proraso Green

Well today's shave took place after having my haircut from the local Barber. Who used to cut my grandpa's hair, and my dad's hair back to when he was 10 years old. He gave me first haircut at 9 months old, and at 6 months old for Connor. Not sure what I'll do when he finally retires.

Anyways the shave. On call being an even day is the Proraso Green. I love this soap but hate the residue it leaves behind. It's not better than a lot of the artisans we have come to love but it is consistent. I had 3 passes and walked away with BBS+. Paid very close attention while doing my neck seeing as I irritated it yesterday. But I got the result I want.

None sorry. Go back two days practically the same.

Doc said Sadie is doing great and on all her trendlines. She goes back in 3 more months to finish her immunizations doc said three yesterday was enough for one day.

Today we are going out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary finally and we are going to Ruth's Chris which is supposed to be very good but we've never been before. I know there are a few locations across the states... Anyone here been?

Anyways have a good day cadre

Great shave Chad!

There is a Ruth Chris here, but I've never been due to the fact that according to the folks I know that have been to it and another popular steak house Connors, Connors is better. So I go to Connors.

There is one here too. I have never been, but a guy I used to work with used to always bring in steak from there for lunch because he had a family member who worked there. It always looked and smelled good.

Good to see you back on the court man.

Enjoy tonight. Never been to Ruth’s Chris, but there’s nothing that matches a great steak and potato.

Well due to my son's name if near a Connor's we'd be stopping.

It was suprisingly very good Don. Worth trying if you get an evening just you and the wife and can enjoy a nice meal.

Thanks Dave. Dinner was great.

Razor: Weck
Blade: Personna(2)
Soap: Fine Lavender Pour Homme
Brush: Stirling Boar

Well today was a very good shave. The Weck and I had a much better outing. The Fine Lavender for ma homies is a great performer. I'm not crazy about the scent but I'm picky on lavenders. I walked away with a wonderful BBS.

Homefront

So dinner yesterday was very nice. My wife and I love going to eat and consider ourselves foodies. So we always go all out when at a new restaurant. Thankfully Ruth's Chris has gift cards at Costco so I got $100 for $80 should've got $200 worth of gift cards though lol. We started with a crab stuffed mushrooms, I had an estancia Pinot grigio, Megan had some dry red from France, then a wonderful chopped salad with homemade Bleu cheese, I had the 20 oz ribeye, megan did the sirloin with lobster, the sides are family style we did fire roasted corn, and sweet potato casserole which was my favorite, finished with coffees liquored up, creme brulee, and bread pudding. Wow it was all so good. But we over ate and are feeling it now lol. We don't eat like this often lol. They treated us well and had rose petals on the table and comped us a dessert for our anniversary. Heres dessert.

We would recommend this restaurant we will be going back for sure.

Great shave and dinner. You made me hungry. Creme Brule and bread pudding are 2 of my favorite desserts.

nice shave Chad and nice recap of the dinner...I'll have to drag SWMBO to one of those restaurants sometime in the future! Sounds like they did and LOTH well for your anniversary!

Nice couple of reads Chad, and indeed finding a good barber after one retires is a toughie

Great read, shave, and picture Chad!

Glad that you and Megan had a great anniversary dinner!

Oh the bread pudding was out of this world! So good! Even my wife who doesn't like bread pudding said she could eat this one.

They certainly did. Thanks Josh

It is Dave for sure. Thankfully he says he isn't planning on retirement for another year or two. Although he did tell me has been listening to offers on his shop. But is more afraid of the Government stepping in and doing eminent domain to widen the road. Which is definitely a possibility.

Awesome dinner, it does sound very tasty

Certainly was. I probably broke a rule pairing white wine with steak though lol. You really should put together a nice post on wine for us being the expert around here. Would probably really broaden my horizons if I knew what I was looking at when at the liquor store.

Razor: CJB Kamisori
Blade: Feather Pro(2)
Soap: Proraso
Brush: Maggard's Synthetic
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Proraso

Well Proraso was on deck again today and what a shave, again! I am starting to fall back in love with this green tub. Maybe when it is gone I will need to replace it just to keep it in the den. We will see. I used the CJB Kamisori which can be found on ebay for under $30 usually. It is a chinese feather kamisori knock off, and the performance is actually pretty darn good. I got a wonderful BBS shave today, which was felt 1 hour post shave.

Homefront:

Well sadly I did not get outside to do any yard work. And I am trying my hardest to prevent Megan from setting up plans for this weekend. I want to mow, and put my firepit in. Plus I winterized my sprinklers knowing I have work to do on them, I already bought the parts but it going to require me to do the work. So I really need friday after work, all day saturday, and most of sunday to get everything done that I want to get done. But as you know I hate yard work, so if she says... hey we are going to go here with my brother today...i'll be like sure! that beats mowing. Anyways hope you all have a great monday!

Not a bad idea for the "Other Interests" section, something outlining the basic differences in varieties or something. There are some pairings which will just make things worse, but I like to agree with the idea that the wine you should order is the one you will like. I like big beefy Napa cabs, so I'll drink those with any darn thing. Even at our wedding when they came by with the white wine to start, I sent them back to just get me the cab. You enjoyed your white with your steak? Then you chose correctly.
