Your daughter won't be driving the Kia will she?
Heck no. In fact i went out a week ago and not only has my son cut the top off and stripped the interior...he took the engine out. I don't even know where he put the darned thing. He tells me he needs new tires on the car he's driving now so i told him he better leave that hunk of KIA trash on 4 wheels so it can be wheeled to the junk yard or i will harm him.

I saw a nice jeep the other day i think would work great for my daughter, it had an exterior roll cage!

Your struggles with the straight razor edges sound a little like mine...I'm finding that more and more are needing refreshes, or I'm becoming more and more of an edge snob; I can't tell which.

Love the fact that you're going forward with the plans for the Camporee. I know those are a big deal for the scouts, so ensuring that it's moving forward is wonderful. Surprising that the old guard won't support it.

IRT your daughter driving...oiy vey. The lord bless and protect us all...lol

The Camporee sounds like a great time and I wish I had gotten in on the Asylum/SV train for Colonial I’m not sure about that flying mango stuff

Lol! That’s some project he has going on.

So ummm, did you just say you had a busy day so you decided to smell like fruit loops?

Got any space in the garage for the smellier side of soapmaking with a hot plate? Would hate to have the wife put the kabosh on the hobby.

I had the crockpot in the garage the whole time. She said it made her van stink.

Whenever I am cooking something smelly, SWMBO masked me use the side burner on the grill.

Great shave and read Chris!

The camporee sounds like an interesting event.
What's with cutting the top of the Kia?

If the girls planned the Camp-o-Ree it should go smoother than if the boys did it I am sure. There used to be a rending plant in Downtown Columbus (ohio) and it was a real treat to drive around that area in the heat of summer.

Straight Shave 811

Steampunk tuxedo
Mystic waters "briar pipe"
HSB Revnoc (revisit)
Royall Musk / CBL Money EdC

First a quick recap of this weekends shaves. Saturday was done with a Personna Surgical Prep and fresh Diane blade. This little razor is a pretty close match to eh Weck Bantom in size and shape but it is made with a much lesser quality steel. The shave was ok but i paid the price for being creative. I decided to leave the guard on in the same position for the entire first pass, which meant half my face was shaved WTG the other half ATG. This proved to be more uncomfortable than i expected and my special witch hazel blend provided me a feedback confirming i had not made a wise choice. Sunday was done with the Revnoc after I had done a quick and dirt refresh on the edge. I hesitate to say the edge was any better than it had been Friday but it certainly wasn't any worse.

Today' shave was done with the Revnoc which had been run on the 0.1micron diamond balsa, the result was definitely better but i expect i could make it even better. The Mystic Waters soap is pretty awesome stuff. I bloomed it while in the shower which made it very quick to load and lather. I only have the one scent but if Mystic Waters made a scent I felt i must have i wouldn't be adverse to getting another tub/puck.

Decided to finish with a few spritzes of Royall Musk ...then i saw my little bottle of CBL Money EdC and thought it might be fun to mix the two. I can't say they are mixing very much but they aren't clashing either. The money is a strong/dominant scent and the musk is a softer powdery scent, i expect the two will start to blend sometime this afternoon.

Wait, you still shave with the guards in place?
Well, this is a different razor than I’ve ever used and it has an open comb guard. I probably spend more time without the guard than with it but I gotta tell ya, the guard makes for a really comfortable shave.

My oldest grandson got his learner's permit about a month or so ago. He is eligible to take his driving test in September. Lord have mercy.
