CBL Premium Soaps

Shawn it's the metal dust from grinding and the metal scale from forging too much that is causing your irritations

I was lazy and skipped Sat too, but used it last night. I didn't get any burning/irritation, but I could tell it was wanting too. Seems like for me this needs everything to be perfect or it's gonna bite me. If I have any sort of irritation like the wind burn or anything, it's going to aggravate it.

Still can't get over how fast that stuff loads though. It's like you just touch the brush to the puck and it's ready to go.

I’m working on your special request, it should be ready pretty soon. I’ll see what I can do about the TSC irritation, I have something in mind that may help.

Ok, reading all of this definitely puts CBL on my list of soaps to try. The Oatmeal sounds very interesting - heck they all sound interesting. I'm not much of a rose guy, but there are so many intriguing scents there I'll be diving in soon enough or be putting them on my Christmas list.

Check out Cowgirl. If you like leather, this one's for you. Enjoy!

Chris sent me a sample of his Earl Grey a few months ago, so I know he makes high-quality soap. I ordered my first tub of CBL Soap last week, the Club CBL because I like Clubman so much. I've had 4 shaves with it & it is outstanding!!!! Performance is top-notch! I'm not an expert in explaining all the virtues & nuances of soap, so I'll keep it simple, this is great soap!!!!!

Chris sent several samples & I'll get to those in the next few weeks. I'm very impressed, I'll be a repeat customer.

Great job Chris, I wish you much success!

It's cool to see Chris offering some new scents. Harvest Oud sounds interesting and still have my eye on Carnation. Have been slowing down a bit on soaps since the den is turning into a museum lol but "resistance is futile" they say.

carnation is surprisingly masculine and enjoyable. I am going to be doing a Gardenia scent soon, it’s totally different from jasmine but in the same feel.

Have used Cut Tobacco the past two mornings. The base of these tallow soaps does not change, so performance, lathering, cushion, glide, etc., are exceptional.

The scent of Cut Tobacco is unlike any other tobacco shaving product I have used. I thought about that for a moment before realizing why. All the other products I've used have had one or more of the following scents in addition to tobacco: gunpowder, leather, and an assortment of minor players. I tried to smell hints of cut hay or grass, but cannot, though it does smell like cut something. I guess that something is tobacco. If you like a clean scent with some depth, you'll like this soap. I certainly do. ?

I looked through this thread and did not see a review of CBL Rosa Bourbonia, so here's mine. First, a disclaimer: I said that CBL BRO (Black Rose Oud) was the best rose aroma ever. That may have been true at the time of its writing, but Rosa Bourbonia now sits atop the pile, IMO.

Oh, BTW, while looking at earlier posts I was puzzled to see question marks at the end of my posts, after the period. Do not be fooled, Cadre, those were originally smilies that somehow got lost in the translation during The Great TSC Blackout of 2019. Just noticed that tonight.

OK, Rosa Bourbonia is a CBL tallow, so its performance is flawless. If you don't know that yet, try some and see for yourself. It's great stuff. Period. The rose scent is oh-so-reminiscent of roses I once grew a few years back. They were doing fine in the front yard till the deer caught a whiff and ate them to death. Oh well. If you like rose, you'll love this soap.

I've noticed when using my phones emoji's instead of the drop down ones n the site they convert to question marks too sometimes. Nice review

This is a soap and scent that I like very much. I also appreciate the concept of putting out a soap with an expensive rose scent oil at the normal price point by putting 3 oz. in a tub instead of 4. I actually prefer the lesser amount because I can use it up that much quicker.

Hey there!
It's been a while since I last posted. Too much real life, but things are slowly getting better.

Chris made a special Unscented version for me and I wanted to update you all. It is a great soap! I am currently using only 3 soaps, having forced myself to use up stuff starting with older purchases first, which is why no updates earlier. But this soap is a fave already!

Thank you, Chris, for the great service and the great soap!
Eric

That Chris is a pretty good guy I hear! Don't be a stranger. We still want to hear about your older soaps!

Chris is a bleeding TSC soap making rock star!

California Sunrise needs to get some love here too. Love that scent, even if I can't figure out what it is.

That scent was a special request made by @Dagwoodz. It is based off a cologne called "sunshine" by Amouage. When I first smelled the cologne the first thong to my mind was that it was a middle eastern type scent. I found the scent POWERFUL and reminiscent of exotic spice more than floral in any way. Turns out the scent is heavily based on Helichrysum (a flower) and supported with a variety of other notes you are more familiar with. When I experimented with Helichrysum oil (The absolute most powerful scent I have every encountered) I found it had to be diluted substantially to be tolerable and still wasn't your typical floral scent...it was bright and "sunny" with so many nuances. The California Sunrise scent is definitely unique in the world of soaps, I am happy you had a chance to grab some.
