CBL Premium Soaps

Got my CBL TSC-scented soap today. Smells great. Also a healthy portion of vegan Grey Vetiver. AND a really cool cork coaster. Very nice!

I have to say that I love the scent of the Black Rose Oud. If you have followed my journal in the past you know how much I love the floral scents, and this one is a killer!

My second shave with CBL TSC this morning, third CBL shave overall. I realized yesterday I was using too much water in my brush, so I shook out more today. The soap quickly yielded a perfect lather, thick, creamy, holding its peaks well. I use soaps one at a time and had to adjust to CBL. Now that I've learned it, I look forward to using it for the next several weeks. I love the scent; it smells just like a shave soap should smell.

Sounds wonderful...

The sample of the TSC scent arrived today. Thank you, KJ!
I like the scent. I'll try it out soon.

I've been using CBL TSC for a week or so, and I love the scent. It grows on you. I liked it at the start, and after enjoying it for several days, I like it more. I've used WSP Gaelic Tweed and Olympus AS with it, and it goes well with both.

Today I used the TSC sample from KJ. When I smelled the soap in the tub it was very weak but it's quite strong when lathered. The scent is a little too vetiver-forward to be a year round scent but it's perfect for a chilly, dreary fall day like today.
Performance is very good. I'll definitely consider CBL for my next soap purchase.

Received CBL BRO (Black rose Oud) and Cowgirl today. BRO is a strong rose scent with hints of oud, at least in the tub. I love it. Cowgirl is leather & lavender, strong on the leather. I love the smell of leather in the morning! Smells like... great soap. Thank you, Chris, for bringing your products forward. These two will become repeat purchases for sure. I already know it'll perform perfectly. ??

Thanks again for the purchase Bruce, I am happy your first impressions were positive. BRO as you put it is one of my favorite scents, floral but with something more.

Used CBL BRO a few moments ago. Wow. Best. Rose. Ever. Lathering this soap releases its spot-on rose aroma. My "shave den" (actually, a powder room) smelled like a flower shop. The soap performed flawlessly, of course, and the rose aroma is intoxicating. It pairs nicely with WSP Olympus, giving it an added rose dimension. ??

I made an order of the TSC soap and Chris most graciously added some BRO as I was wanting to try it. The BRO is an excellent scent. I'm not at all good on describing them or even picking out most things in them, but the rose is definitely there yet not overpowering. Definitely going on my re-order list.

The TSC soap is where I'm having an issue and not happy at all. The reason I'm not happy is the scent is absolutely great. I have some vetiver that I like, and some lime soaps that I like, so I figured this one would be good. It's better than good.
But I've used it twice and I get a little bit of burning and irritation from it.

First time I had been up on a roof all day and had some sun and wind burn, grabbed a boar brush that isn't fully broken in, and a razor I hadn't used in a while to remember how long the blade had been in there. So I passed it off as just a bad day. Soap performed great otherwise.
Second time, I grabbed a soft badger that I know is easy on my face, put a fresh Nacet in a tech because I know that is a smooth mild combo for me, and tried again. Not as bad that time, but still a bit of burn and very mild irritation.

Going to give it a go again tonight since I haven't shaved in two days and won't be out in the wind today. I'm afraid it's still going to give me a bit though. I'm thinking there is something in the neroli that my face doesn't like. That's the only thing in there I'm pretty sure I've never tried before.

The other soaps I've gotten from him are amazing though and have edged their way into my elite box. Now I just need to get some of that marshmallow he is talking about to mix with my chocolate so I can walk around smelling like a smores!

Keep me posted on the irritation. The frag is made of 4 distinctly different oils and one of them is more complex than the other three. We can definitely try to figure out the culprit.

...and chocolate IS gonna happen soo!

Ok, reading all of this definitely puts CBL on my list of soaps to try. The Oatmeal sounds very interesting - heck they all sound interesting. I'm not much of a rose guy, but there are so many intriguing scents there I'll be diving in soon enough or be putting them on my Christmas list.

I was lazy and skipped Sat too, but used it last night. I didn't get any burning/irritation, but I could tell it was wanting too. Seems like for me this needs everything to be perfect or it's gonna bite me. If I have any sort of irritation like the wind burn or anything, it's going to aggravate it.

Still can't get over how fast that stuff loads though. It's like you just touch the brush to the puck and it's ready to go.
