Brew's Foul Concoction

Got the truck back yesterday afternoon, in time to fetch to dog from jail. Unfortunately, the TPMS sensor came on on the way home, and the mechanic who programs these things has the nerve to be off the next couple of days to be home with his wife and new baby. I've known Sean for about 10 years and am very happy for them. I guess the new tire and sensor just got a baby gift more expensive! lol.

I'll also be picking up an interview suite this weekend. The new opportunity wants to meet with me in NYC in early December. Woo hoo!

Re: shave stuff, finally, I shaved with an old Fili #13 this morning. The edge looked a bit spotty after stropping, but I didn't feel like dealing with a touch up, so I just used it. Should have taken the time, as I feel a bit of irritation under my chin/throat. I think a touch up will take care of that for tomorrow's shave. I used Speick, so I know it wasn't my lather. Finished with Proraso white and Habit Rouge.

It took a while for my boar to stop shedding.

Sorry about all the grief, and glad everything turned out pretty alright. Those dang sensors are too finicky for 2019. There's a way to recalibrate them; Google "calibrate tpms [your vehicle]." Unless that's not the issue, and if that's the case....uhhhhhh...i dunno. 🤣

Do you ever use pasted balsa strops to maintain or touch up an edge? I found they are a good maintenance tool and a great way to finish an edge after honing before or between stropping on leather. I like the speed of diamond paste but .1micron chrome oxide makes for smoothness that is quite complementary to most edges.

Oh, there were just a couple of wordings, probably added to the talk of a dog and a truck that made me read it in a southern accent.

I like playing with language. Fetching a dog is an opportunity to use "fetch" in and out of context. Who could resist?

The touch-up to the #13 did wonders to the edge. All day yesterday my face felt a bit irritated, until I washed for the evening and splashed on some Thayer's cucumber witch hazel. I prefer the rose flavored one, but I'm out of that. Cucumber seems to be a bit better for my skin, however. In any case, same razor this morning has left my skin feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Almost some sort of restorative shave. Whatever. It was nice.

I think I've also figured out a way to "man-up" Shalimar's opening just a bit, without making it less beautiful. AoS Oud ASB sits nicely and unobtrusively under the opening, giving it a nice, mellow base until it settles down into that simmering Shalimar middle/base that has me hooked. It's this over the top beautiful opening that Habit Rouge does differently (but complementary) , I think, and then settles down into a very similar middle/base.

Next order of business this morning is shopping for an interview suit. That shouldn't take too long here, as there aren't too many places to shop at, and the selection isn't great. But all I need is a conservative grey suit, and there isn't a men's store in this country that can't do that. I'll report back later.

Beautiful but cold day here in the Finger Lakes. I hope you and yours enjoy the weekend.

I love those seemingly rejuvenating shaves; they can make a world of difference. Good luck with the hunt, and stay warm.

Suit and tie are in the bag, so to speak. Actually, the suit is still downtown, to be altered this week. It's a dark charcoal suit with some thin blue color, I guess almost like hidden in a graph check. I should have taken a pic.
Sounds like i winner
