Brew's Foul Concoction

I think the fili razors are so well-liked because an oaf like me can keep them sharp. My touch up to the Garibali created a super sharp shaving edge that had me wondering last night if my whiskers grow fast enough to require a shave this morning. Normally only a fresh blade in the Feather razor shaves me so close. But like waking up to a face full of presents on Christmas Day, . . . . whiskers!!!

We got some snow overnight. I haven't put the lights on out there yet to see how much. I don't think it will be too bad, but I am not in a hurry to go for a run in it. The dog hates running in bad weather. He doesn't like it hitting his face; me neither. I'll probably just skip it today. Enjoy a nice, long, unearned hot shower and barely necessary shave instead.

Have a good morning.

I haven't looked yet. We were supposed to get a few inches but not sure if it was cold enough while the rain hit We'll see when I'm not bleary eyed. Coffee !!!!!

Tweaked my back Sunday morning and now I get to shovel this morning. Whee!
Ouch. I have a huge pine tree that holds up a ton of snow above the driveway to my garage. If it snows a foot and a half, I might get four inches on most of the driveway. I can drive the truck on that. The end of the driveway, however, . . . plows are merciless.

Shave is done and it's still snowing. I used the new Stirling brush for the first time. I pre-washed it 3 or 4 times and the bristle tips have begun to split, so I figure I'd give it a shot. I think this is going to be a real nice brush after the hairs split some more. It had no problem making some real nice lather with the Stirling Agar soap. This time the soap seemed a bit spicier than I remembered, but it shaved just fine. Clubman Musk and Dior Leather Oud, and I'm out the door.

Shouldn't everyone that needs to deal with snow every year have a snowblower?

Did a 12k touch up to Spok yesterday in preparation for today's shave. The razor is a #14, so it's a breeze to keep sharp. Shave today with Chris's Money soap was superb. I thought I may have nailed the touch up, as the edge went from dirty to sparkling, and the water pushed in front of the bevel smoothly and evenly. I don't test the edge when I hone, other than to shave with it the next day. I wouldn't know what to tell from a hanging hair, assuming it even cuts by an edge I've honed. And ever since I started taking heart meds that make me bleed, I don't purposefully touch an edge, other than to shave. No thumb pad/nail tests for me. I like to keep the blood on the inside, as much as possible.

I had a feeling Money would pair nicely with the white Proraso ASB. It did, perfectly imo. Finished with the Habit Rouge I've been enjoying. Each time my arm went back and forth stropping Spok I got a puff of incredible fragrance up through the neck of my tee shirt and button down. Didn't want to stop.

Have a good Wednesday TSC.

You SR shavers are an interesting bunch. Sounds like work to me, though I respect what you do. I've kept my distance from straights ever since I sliced my thumb open on my grandfather's when I was a young boy. Do that to may face or neck? No thanks!

When I learned that people still used straight razors and that it was possible to learn, I was completely blown away. I had no idea, and certainly no history like having a grandfather who used one. I couldn't resist, and probably am one of the least likely people you've ever "met" to use a straight. But there's no other way I'd rather start my day.

Blow out shave followed by a blow out tire on the way to taking Koda to jail. Dropped the truck off at the garage, they think they'll have a new tire on in time to pick the dog up this afternoon. Not how I envisioned my day starting while I was showering. Shave was real good. SJoL is a great cream, and the French vetiver is a great fragrance. Tabac and Shalimar, to complete the shave. I used the Stirling brush again, which will need to stop shedding real soon to get continued use. Otherwise, it's a fine brush.

Awesome on the shave and bummer on the tire. Hopefully they'll have you fixed up quick!
