Nice! Key wind?
No, weight/chain. It is has a bell that only rings once on the hour, which is fine as there's also a cuckoo clock on this floor that chimes the number of hours and once at the bottom of the hour. The cuckoo is also weight/chain driven. Most of the others in the house are key/wind up. There's lots. I figured out the obsession started about the same time as the tinnitus. I think the ticking relieves the constant shushing in my head.

My parents have an old cookoo clock. Weight driven by heavy pine cones. Chimes the hours and once on the half. Had for years and drives me nuts if I have to spend the night there. I need to get a pic of my father in laws. Forget what it's called but rare I believe.

Day two with the Habit Rouge cologne. It is not the "male Shalimar." Rather, this is Shalimar's soul-mate. They seem to share base notes, but whereas Shalimar has sensuous, beautiful top notes, HR starts with a zesty, almost slightly citrousy subdued flash that is very manly in the same way as the Guerlain Vetiver has a zesty flavor, but I don't think it's vetiver that does this. I could see Fred and Ginger out together wearing these fragrances. Or name your favorite, elegant couple. Great fragrances, imo.

I used a Stirling soap for the first time, Agar. A great lather, first time out. Really nice, mild fragrance that I enjoyed sticking my face in. I did a first wash with the Stirling boar brush that arrived yesterday. I usually wash a new brush every other day until the bristles start to split. Then I'll use it for a shave.

I hope you all enjoy your Fridays. Can't wait to stick a fork in this week!

Love the clock, I have a couple similar clocks needing cleaning and/or repair. I also have an old Regulator pendulum clock that hung on wall growing that is now my closet needing repair. It stopped ringing on the half and hour then started getting hard to keep time. I miss the tic-Tok, it really gave a good pace to the house.

Agar is a great scent but man did that one light my face up, one of the few that does. I think I may still have it but plan to give it away at some point. The brush is great, the price just makes it better.

Thanks. This is the first clock that has a slow tic/toc. The others in the house beat at twice the rate. This one is more like a long case grandfather (which I wish my little home had room for).

The Old Spice cream has restored my faith in drugstore brand shaving. Generally, old classics are what they are because they've worked real good for a real long time. They're not going to be the best, unless your definition of "best" is "dependably very good." When one of those brands utterly fails, like the Clubman cream did, its damn-near depressing. Any way, Old Spice to the rescue! Very good stuff.

Brother Larry’s faith in classic is restored!

Glad it performed. Have a good Saturday friend!

I'll have to give my tube a another try. I got a trash lather, but I don't know what was going on that day.

Nice fragrance, good cushion, decent glide, though could have been slicker. It washed very cleanly and easily, leaving great post-shave feel. Assuming it lathers easy with hard water, I think this stuff would make a good travel cream. The tube is a good size for the ditty bag.

I've got two new things that I am totally fixated on. The CBL Black Rose Oud is a great soap. I absolutely love the fragrance and how well it pairs with most of my other favorite morning routine stuff. Besides smelling great, the stuff is a super performer. No complaints, whatsoever. I need to remind myself to use the other stuff sitting on my bathroom counter, instead of reflexively grabbing the BRO. The other fixation is Shalimar. Once that initial blast of earthy florals settles down and the the base notes start simmering with my body heat, the puffs of air from my tee shirt as I move about are simply shocking and sensuous, but not naughty like Jicky can be. Shalimar is also very long lasting, which HR seems to lack. This fragrance makes a great change, from start to finish. Not nearly as dramatic a change as Grey Flannel. It's much more of a smooth ride along a scent spectrum. Good stuff.

While reading about the BRO, I knew Shalimar was what #2 was going to be :p (y)
I'm wondering if it's just a passing infatuation or the real thing. Probably won't be able to figure that out until next summer. If Shalimar kicks Jicky to the curb, then I'll know I have a new favorite. Jicky is a Summer frag, imo, and it wouldn't be a fair fight in this cold weather.
