Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Ooooh clicky thing!

KJ might kill me but I am going to say that Harvest Oud scent wise is BETTER than Roasted Oatmeal Stout

Have at it man.... it's all yours. I'm going to go through the samples he gave me tonight, but initially I'm not a fan of that one. The pumpkin isn't the part I thought I was going to dislike..... it's the cocoa.

I searched silicon sleeve for straight razors. Couldn’t find what I wanted and tried just silicon sleeve ... don’t do that.

Anyone know where they keep the muffins?
There's only 1 more after what we consumed and she made her rounds of deliveries. I'll take care of it with some milk when I'm done typing my shave. You crack me up Dave.

Razor: Psycho Razor

Blade: Voskhod (1)

Brush: Stirling 24 mm Tuxedo

Soap: Strop Shoppe Black Tie

Aftershave 1: Humphreys Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Badger Blend Blue Steel

All the talk of the Psycho razor had me itching to get mine out for spin. Nice mild shave that requires too much clean up which is why I don't use it often but it is really fun to have and use occasionally. Had one years ago I sold and got this a couple years ago hoping to never part with it but I'm fickle so you never know. I've always said there are 2 constants in my life. My relationship with my creator and my wife, everything else is negotiable as they're just things ?

Used the Black Tie Strop Shoppe soap today. Nice mild scent but couldn't tell you anything that stood out about it scent wise (Big surprise right for me, right?) It isn't an elite soap but was a nice easy lather to build. Produces nice cushion and protection. No residual slickness until you rinse and get some water on and then you have the slickness for touch ups. Glad I have the 2 tubs for nostalgia. Topped things of with the Humphreys and Blue Steel which after researching is a mix of Florida Water and Aqua Velva. Nice combo. Hope all the Cadre have a stellar day !! now where did that muffin go......................

I started the Clubs and Brotherhood for Psycho razors in the other neighborhood. Biggest collection I've seen is bobbers from Louisiana. He makes and sells the keys on the bay.

Great shave today Dave! It's funny about Strop Shoppe and it not being elite and all. And you are right. But in 2014 before they closed up shop...if you would ask anyone...Strop Shoppe was the absolute best soap out there! Just funny how times have changed and how we have become spoiled!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Still glad to have some history and still a very good soap compared to some others.

Stunned.......

I've seen the keys for sale. There's a keyless razor up right now for around $100. Too much for me.
