Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Nice shave Dave. Got the box today that Fragile Confusion smells a bit like a soda flavored candy to me. Revolution is really nice scent and the “F” plate is going for its test runs tonight or tomorrow
I found the description interesting which is why I purchased it. I always forget to pay attention to the scent and if it comes and goes but I think it does as they say. Let me know what you think of it. Here's a copy an paste of their description

*If you like a strong scent directly from the jar, we do not recommend this soap!

A scent so unique in it's make up that we need to take a moment and explain. The scent out of the jar is very light. 'Fragile' is the appropriate term. Lathering this soap, the fragrance will appear and then fade only to repeat the cycle throughout your shave. Finally the scent makes a reappearance AFTER your shave, staying with your skin. Not an easy concept to get your mind around. 'Confusion' is the appropriate term.
Fragrance Profile: Warm, Smokey, Spicy, Sweet

When I recently bought the two CRSW Glide soaps, I saw that "Fragile" one and almost bought it just out of curiosity (but didn't).

If you feel so inclined, I’ll not say no! At least I can say I’ll have given it a try. Definitely not trying to fall through an SE rabbit hole though!

Good shave today! How’d you like the Deep Woods? Is that one you already had?

I felt so inclined and it's on its way. You may love it or it may close that rabbit hole for you completely. I think I'd prefer a modern SE if I was going that route or a micromatic if I happen across one in the wild to try out.

I LOVE the Revolution scent and the Glide is slicker then snot. I'll be getting some other scents for sure eventually.
Nice shave and pic, Dave!
Thanks Tim

What was the matter........Did it "Confuse" you ?

Great finish to Speicktember!
Thanks Chad, I'll no doubt use it some more now that I have it and it is a great some and splash.

I can send you a Clog-Pruf Micromatic to try and some blades if needed. You were kind enough to let me babysit a couple razors.
TJ, I appreciate the kind offer and am grateful but can probably pick one up for what shipping will be. I just need to focus on looking and go get one. I have blades. Thanks for thinking of me Brother

Razor: Timeless .68 Scalloped Cap and Base

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)

Brush: Paladin 26mm Harlequin Chief

Soap: Ariana & Evans Uno

Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber

Aftershave 2: Aqua Velva

Well my baby is home and with a new to me Base plate (Scalloped) Loaded her with a new GSB an swiped off the lushes lather the Uno Soap Sample from our Library produced. If you haven't tried any from the library, you are missing out on a nice and unique offering on this forum. If nothing floats your boat at least send in some to add to the library. You know you'll never use all your soap anyway ? This is a nice addition to the Open Comb plate I already had. It is much more mild and I like that. It yielded a nice and smooth shave but requires more cleaning up then the OC so I'm glad I have both and some options. Topped of with some Thayers and Aqua Velva and for a moment all is right in the world.
Have a great day and evening Cadre !!

CBL is producing for A&E now? Nice! ?

Good shave Dave! Great looking setup for today.

Just getting caught up Dave! A lot of great stuff going on and glad you like that Ballenclaugh Tobacco and Honey! ? ? ?

Just getting caught up. That timeless razor is a real looker. Great that's it's a good shaver, too.

Razor: Timeless .68 Open Comb Base and Scalloped Cap

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)

Brush: Paladin 26mm Lime Lotus

Soap: CBL Cigar Shop Cowboy

Aftershave 1: Humphey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Proraso Green

So I had TJ's recent post about the reflections during a shave and today was a day I REALLY was stressing and have NO idea why.....ever have that happen and have no reason? Anyway I had the house to myself for a few more hours and thought time for a shower and shave to relax and meditate while enjoying the shave. Decided that while the shave with the scalloped plate was nice it required more cleanup and still wasn't as close as I remember from the OC. It had been too long so switched the Timeless out for the Open Comb. After the 1st pass I knew this is the setup I preferred. It requires a little more caution an thought (The exact opposite of why I like the Rockwell 6s which is mindless) but the Timeless OC gives me such a superior shave to anything else I have used.

Used the Lime Lotus to whip a great lather from CBL's sample of Cigar Shop Cowboy soap. I enjoyed the scent although it may not be one I'd reach for often. The lather was exactly what we know CBL's soaps produce. Gave a perfect cushion and glide for the Timeless to skate around my mug and leave me swimming with the dolphins. Some Humphrey's topped with some Proraso Green and I'm feeling better already. Mow the yard ??..................maybe tomorrow. Have a great day Cadre !! And thoughts with KJ for a successful surgery day with the medical staff caring for him !!!
