Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Wow...finally caught up Dave! Great set of shaves over the past 3 weeks, even though some were a little on the rough side of the house due to irritants. Good luck on the 3017 of the GTB!

The Cashmere knot is an excellent knot indeed!
Indeed Chris

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Perma Sharp (1)
Brush: Cadre Member Brush w/Cashmere Knot
Soap: CFG Ghost Town Barber
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber

Same set up as yesterday but with a fresh perma sharp blade. Rained out of work after a couple hours so called it a day. Another attempt at a video that after downloading was all messed up. Video and voice off and skipped frames and froze etc. Deleted and give up for now. Just gonna stick with pics and journals while leaving the high tech stuff to you professionals. Another nice shave and enjoying the GTB but have some new soaps staring at me from the shelf to try. I'm soldiering on but don't know about this 3017 stuff. Even with a favorite soap I miss picking and choosing daily.

Have a great day and Weekend Cadre !!

A belated welcome to the journals Dave. I apologize for not reading everything from June until now, there is just too mush real estate to cover after a fairly long absence. But I will be following along.

Thanks for the welcome Walt and NO worries. Time is hard to come by and circumstance change for us all at different times. Glad you are checking in and hope things keep improving for you and yours.

Sorry you got rained out at work Dave...I know time not working is probably money not made. But as a consolation...I hope the rest of the day is a relaxing one!

Great reads! I usually have to bin a voskhod at seven shaves.

Maybe I’m odd, but a narrative shave video, just staring at the ceiling would be kinda funny.

Thanks Don. At this stage in life I welcome the time off.

I'm gonna guess you'd be in the minority but won't call you odd Tim. Thanks for reading and commenting

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Perma Sharp (2)
Brush: RR Big Bruce
Soap: CFG Ghost Town Barber
Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber
Aftershave 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber

Chris using his RR BB got me thinking how I've neglected Bruce since getting some new brushes. He and my Stirling Synthetic were my 2 favorites before and never disappoint, so I decided to get Bruce out for some lather fun. He enjoyed getting to slather around with the GTB scent.............yep, he told me so. Loving the soap and splash but variety bug is getting itchy and may need to be scratched soon. Nice smooth shave.

Have a Great Day and Weekend Cadre !!

As far as the 3017 goes. You could do what Chad did a little while ago and pick certain days to use the GTB while choosing different soaps the other days.
