beginish’s Eye on a Splintered Mind

Even if I had brought the Trumper and monster bottle of Floïd with me, they would not have gotten much use. True to vacation form, I hardly shaved at all. Still the desiccated puck of Trumper that I found when I got back tells me that it won’t be long now.

Upgraded the game yesterday, giving the Schick Adjustable a full cleaning with Scrubbing Bubbles as part of the monthly injector blade swap. After several months with the B&B Boar and Trumper Violet soap, I’ve broken out the Simpson Chubby 2 Synth to get this soap over with. Even knowing that I don’t have THAT many soaps left in the grand scheme of things, the soap box looked too full when I opened it yesterday. The Floïd Blue has just a few millimeters left in the bottle, but it refuses to give up. Days? Weeks? I don’t know when it’s going to finally give up the ghost, but I’m determined to use it up and not just dump the rest down the drain.

Thanks for the arm twisting to pressure me into using my Cubby 2 synth this morning as well, Bob. 😜
August is looking good according to the weather lather forecast. (y)

The Trumper puck broke into a bunch of pieces this morning, making lathering a bit of a joke. I moved them to my Old Spice mug and proceeded to find out that a Chubby 2 is particularly unsuited for lathering. It’s too short and takes up too much space in the mug. Tonight I took a shave stick and pressed the rest of the soap into the mug and got my Rudy Vey synthetic with 24mm knot out of the box. I’m hoping that the longer handle will work while the Mühle synthetic knot delivers a similar beating to the soap. Suffice to say that it won’t be long now.

With those crumbly bits, I give them a good wetting and use my hulk-esque thumbs (I'm MASSIVE, you know ;)) to squish them into a paste in the bottom of the container. There's still going to be a few sand-sized pieces in there, but for the most part, it works for me. But you probably have tried things like this in the past.
