I know. No matter how good the splash, 400ml is a lot to 3017.

Can I tell you how happy I am that I never fell down the aftershave rabbit hole? Unlike the ludicrous amounts of soap in my closet, I can legitimately say that other than that comical 400 ml bottle of Floïd Blue, I have *2* bottles of AS (Booster Polar Ice and Lucky Tiger). Any AS purchase I make from now on will be 100 ml or less.

Something like this, perhaps?

For the past week I have been using the B&B Essential Boar by Omega with the Trumper Violet, and have been getting seriously A level lathers. Really, it’s the best Trumper lather I’ve gotten from any brush, bar none (including the synths). I’m halfway tempted to just stay the course with this brush for the remainder of the puck.

Yeah, I’m getting elite level lather from a middling puck of Trumper soap and thoroughly enjoyable shaves. I’m sticking with this boar until the end. Change for the sake of change makes no sense here.

I cannot begin to explain how the same soaps produce such wildly variable lathers depending on the brush you use. I can say in general terms that synths work best, but this boar is making a puck of mediocre soap lather like tallow first Penhaligon’s in its heyday.

Shortly after pandemic began, I was down to my last couple of DE blades (a 100 box of Med Prep Personnas), and decided to switch over to my Schick Injector for the foreseeable future. I bought a 4 pack of injector blades, and after 14 months, I have now finished two of them. The injector blades aren’t cheap, and I have been successfully using them for a month each. The last week can have some tugging, but all in all, it works. 2 injectors down, 2 to go, so I should be ready for another blade purchase next summer.

That floïding bottle of Floïd Blue is still going. I’d like to say it will be finished by the time July turns to August, but I’m going to lose a week while AWAY on VACATION. I ain’t lugging that bottle with me. I’m going to take my small trial size of Thayer’s Toner.

Also, the Trumper Violet soap is putting up a valiant fight, but is slowly succumbing to the B&B Essential Boar. I will leave the soap behind and bring a stick of QED Rosie soap.
