Anything that can go wrong... Will happen while I'm Shaving

Great shave Paul! Bummer the 7 o’clocks aren’t working for ya. I don’t recall them being anything special for me either.

Thanks Chris.

Yeah, I have a few hundred as I used to use these regularly. It's a good blade , but just isn't as good... At least not now, with this particular razor. Never know, might work better with my next razor. Fickle business. [emoji1787]

Amen. Ive been very happy with this Hensons setup, and it's been very good to me. I hope it continues this way (especially when it becomes titanium). [emoji106]
I can pop just about any blade into the Henson and make magic.... might only get 4 shaves vs. my typical 5-6 (big difference, right? 🤷‍♂️).
10 days (I think?) and counting for the Ti to ship 🥳

According to a post or two over on another Board, at least one has shipped (not mine [emoji3525]).

So, don't be surprised if you get an early shipping notice.

I agree, it has worked well with every blade I've given it so far. Personally, I can still tell the difference between the ones I liked more. Though, it has made me like the Nacets more, so some changes I guess. Still, it didn't 'not work' with any, yet.

Wow! That’s great news. I’ve had a few emails from them to review the razor... a little premature, right?! 🤷‍♂️
The Nacets ROCK in the Henson! I also have a ton of one off and no name blades that also slay in it. All in all, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️ Razor 😉

Yep, I got the same review emails from Trust Pilot. They must not have anyway of differentiating between a pre-order and a regular order.

Just does enough reminding to keep you thinking about the upcoming razor... Making the wait all the more prevalent and painful. 😂🤣

PRE: Stirling Glacial Bar Soap
SOAP: Victory TSC / Tough Hombres Soap
RZR: Henson AL13
BLD: Personna Comfort (#1)
POST: Stirling Glacial Post Shave Balm

[emoji294][emoji294][emoji294][emoji294]½ (4.5/5)

I decided to scrap the Gillette Black and start with a fresh Persona. Today is the maiden voyage with the new victory shaving / TSC Tough Hombres.

First off, as Barber Dave has mentioned, this soap was designed for a good cause with $2 from each tub being donated to the Fisher House.

So, I had planned to do a detailed review of this soap with my shave. Funny thing is, when I pulled it out today, I didn't quite agree with the assessment I jotted down yesterday. It's definitely a green citrus scent. I barely picked up the juniper yesterday, but today I get a whole lot more of it. Vice-versa, I couldn't really detect the cedar today, yet yesterday I thought it was present in the drydown.

Regardless, this is a wonderful scent: light clean and fresh.

Very cool! Nice review Paul. Do you have any other Victory soaps that you enjoy?
Thanks Chris.

Yeah, I also have Flak Bait. That one comes off as an intense dark cherry scent with a backdrop of rum and a bit of smoke. When you lather it, the Cherry gives way to the rum a bit and it ends up a delightfully balanced mixture.

One thing Barber Dave commented on in his review of Tough Hombres is that the scents are quite unique. From my limited experience, that is definitely true. I personally feel that's a big plus in their favor. We all like the classic choices, but how many Aventus clones do you need? Victory is definitely is offering another way to go, imo.

I need to try some of their soaps. I should probably kill something to make room...or not ;-)

What's with the loooong quote on latin (or whatever it is)? My babel fish is on the fritz, can't make a word of it out. 🤣

PRE: Stirling Glacial Bar Soap

RZR: Henson AL13
BLD: Personna Comfort (#2)
POST: Stirling Glacial Post Shave Balm

[emoji294][emoji294][emoji294][emoji294]½ (4.5/5)

Tonight I went through the soaps, one by one to see what caught my attention. Turned out Noble Otter's Monarch was what I was in the mood for.

The lather came out great, the shave was smooth, and the finish was DFS+. After using the Nacet for a few shaves, I feel like the Personna required more work / was a bit less efficient. So, I decided to bin the blade and pop a fresh Nacet in for Sunday. Both are good blades, but since the inspiration hit, I'm going to go back to the Nacet and re-compare. Might do a little shopping, if I'm correct. Not like blades are ever going to be useless. [emoji6]

On the home front, I have high hopes for a quiet evening and a late start tomorrow. Watch some Mando, eat some dinner, and relax. Fingers crossed!

Have a good evening Cadre!

I was in such a rush to get to the shave, I skipped the Preshave. Luckily, it didn't matter.

I wanted to give the Nacet another run and my first shave on a new blade tonight was great. Smooth, easy, and efficient. Just a great shave to end the weekend.

Have a good evening Cadre.

...and another 300 blades are enroute. [emoji106]

Got a good price, albeit with delivery from the other side of the planet (so it'll take until the end of 2020 to receive). Still, my current ~250 will hold me for about 5 years, so I'm ok with the wait. [emoji6]

Time for me to bring the mood down...

Been thinking this morning about trying a 2021 "S Word". A year? 6 months? Just a month by month 'GRUME'? Need to ponder it over the holidays.

Only things I risk running low on are AS balm or Preshave soap. Since I never use scented versions of these, it's easy to stock up.

Just a (taboo) thought. [emoji6]
