Antique Store Finds

LOL, yep and apparently you got all the good stuff when you were there and didn't leave much behind other than the stuff that was waaaay over priced. :ROFLMAO: Some of those vendor are REALLY proud of there stuff and don't really care if they sell much of it apparently.

Actually I didn't get through the whole place, need to got back.
You wouldn't by chance be referring to the 2 gem razors that have been priced at a moderate $95 each for the last 3 years or so would you? Or the number of $50 straight razrazors with broken scales and big chunks missing from the rusted blades?

There is some good stuff there but its hit and miss. Apparently there are a few others watching for that stuff too according to a couple of the employees.

Lol, I only saw one $95 Gem, but yes, lol. That and the chipped blade straights for $$$.

So new it still has the logo stamped in it.
That's insane!!! You could probably turn that around for a mint. But if it was mine, there's no way it'd leave my house. I'd use the soap once or twice, just because, then stash it away forever! (of course, I'd only lather off the bottom of the puck, to keep that logo as minty as possible!

THE SEAFORTH IS UNOBTANIUM!!!!!! DANG!!!!
Did you see this the other day????

Phoenix Shaving just dropped “Diver Down”, an homage to Seaforth Spiced. Ordered the soap and splash combo.

WOW, cool! Not sure why, but I have some kind of sub/conscious animus against Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements. I think I read some unsavory things about them back 3-4 years ago about some shady stuff. THOUGH, I've never tried their products and what they sell has nothing to do with how they run their business. So, maybe it is time to give them a try.

I had not heard about it. I just saw they were making something like seaforth.. I didn't know there were problems with the company.
To be fair, the owners seem to have learned from their mistakes. AFAIK, they have been completely above board ever since and have worked hard to rebuild their reputations.

I have purchased a ton of stuff from PAA since getting into wetshaving in 2016 and have never had a problem. They screwed up, but they should be allowed to live down their mistakes.

I truly hope you are right, but I still can't help but to have reservations about them. I have only recently tried their soap for the first time. I did not buy it, I got it in a PIF from a very generous Cadre member. Having already been in wet shaving during the time of the kerfuffle and reading some of the accounts of what was going on at that time left a lasting impression on me. Bottom line is I guess PAA, or more accurately, "Doug" just kinda rubs me the wrong way.

With all that said, and to be fair, the couple times that I have used the PAA soap it performed excellent for me, the scent was just Meh for me, but performance was very good.

Similar feelings here. Trust is difficult to rebuild when trampled on. I received that set from a trade and while my assessment of the soap was the same as yours I couldn't get my feelings out of my head which is why I got rid of it. Never purchased anything from them and Doug rubs me wrong as well (y)

Anyway....back to the thread topic.

Saw this at a different antiques place this past weekend. Has anyone ever used Vam?
