Antique Store Finds

I bet the TV show The Vampire Diaries helped with sales after the re-release, verveine was what non vampire characters took on the show to keep from being "compelled" by vampires..... So when the younger crowd saw something with that in its name if they were fans of the show they would have bought it...Okay that was my useless information for the day... that is all..😜
Hahahahaha, so bet! The wife watched it, so I was exposed and unfortunately know what you are referring to.... I’ll go pick it up today!

I would put a nice boar knot in there!

I'm a fan of the pre-war Tech, but all of mine shave the same, are the caps different on yours?

.
Boar knot might be most fitting, indeed!

As for the Pre-War Fat Handle Tech, both of mine have identical caps, handles, and base plates (with triangular lather slots); however, it is my opinion that the well-worn cap on this one is slightly thinner (than my minty one) along the cutting edge and thus gives just a tad more gap/exposure and (to me) a slightly different & better feel. It may also be that I just love the nostalgia of the well-worn Tech and the ever-so-slight performance edge is ALL in my mind!

Took my wife to an estate sale today!

Came away with these two goodies!

Gillette Pre-War Fat Handle Tech withg case in very good condition (no to very little plating wear at all): $8.00
Red & black handle Ever-Ready 150 brush (will need some restoration and re-knotting, but still a good find): $1.00

Happy wife: PRIECLESS!!!

Found me a vintage Rexall Drug Sore "Klenzo" BUTTERSCOTCH beauty!!!
Model # B-1354
The "Klenzo" logo is barely visible.

The lettering is more than a bit faint and difficult to read, and it is quite surprisingly printed "upside down" on this lovely Catalin (Bakelite) handle.
I have NEVER seen such "upside down" printing on a brush handle before.
The deep amber "butterscotch" coloration of this baby is quite appealing! ...and, of course, it has that characteristic Bakelite odor when rubbed!
This brush handle is HEAVY (dense) and feels absolutely great in the hand.
This treasure was discovered hiding out among a bunch of JUNK in an antique barn in Saugatuck, MI, located along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline!

Might just have to keep this blast-from-the-past and have it re-knotted with a two-band silver-tip badger knot!
I predict that the lower black band of a two-band knot would contrast well and look exquisite next to the butterscotch handle!

Also pictured (below) are my other 2 vintage "antique store finds" from a while back.
The red & black handle Ever-Ready 150 has a Bakelite base and feels quite solid.
The white & black handle Ever-Ready 150 has a hollow celluloid base and feels light for it's size.

NOTE: If anybody here is interested in these two Ever-Ready 150s for a restoration project, PLEASE let me know, as I only picked them up out of pure impulse.

To reknot with anything but boar would be blasphemous!

May have come with a holder, and they wanted you to be able to read it upside-down.

Nice find....I like them all..but i think i like the white & black handle Ever-Ready 150 a little more personally... It looks like it would be nice to restore...

I couldn't leave this in the wild a few weeks back. Grand Turk Old Spice mug with used soap (a cleaning lather will fix it up) and an incredible NOS Seaforth mug with new unused soap.

Awesome. I have a couple seaforth mugs, but never seen the soap. Always wanted to find some and try it.

Went to the antiques mall today for a bit, didnt have a lot of time but saw these cool vintage mugs...
