After looking at this thread, I know what I’ll be doing on my next day off.... lol
So do you mean the construction man AS bottle was $ 79 ??The aftershave bottle is what they want $79 for. Lol
Yep. It took me a second to realize it said $79 and not $7.90.So do you mean the construction man AS bottle was $ 79 ??
Well I hope my pm helps with that.Yep. It took me a second to realize it said $79 and not $7.90.
Yeah, darn google has those vendors asking the going rate. It’s like they aren’t even thinking about us, only their bottom line.. It’s Christmas time, how could they??? .My last 2 Antique store trips were complete busts, didn't find much and what I did find was priced way too high for me.
Yeah same here in St. Louis. Once you get 30 or so miles outside the city limits you start finding interesting and well priced items. It takes a lot of work to find much good, but it’s all worth it when you find a NOS gillette set or an unused pack of Williams Tonsorial or Yardley. Loads of fun and it just great to get away from the city! Here in Chicagoland I kinda gave up on antique stores as most either had no shaving stuff at all, or the ones that did clearly thought vintage shaving was the place to make some money and had things like grungy Red Tips and Injectors for FAR more than they were actually worth. Need to get downstate again soon, hoping there's more variety outside the metro area. Do usually have a nice selection of Avon decanters, though!
You found a toggle in the wild! That in itself is very cool. I’ve never seen one in person. The toggle was
You know, that's the way I looked at it... So what if it was overprice or what ever! I got to handle a toggle and most people can't say they've ever done that. I'll keep looking! I've seen a couple in my travels, but neither were cheap. The first one I found was in Jefferson City about 7 years ago, when we were still in debt payoff mode and I was on one of the restraints. It was only about $140, which is a steal today, but back then when we were working the Dave Ramsey plan really hard, there was no way I'd spend that kind of money on a razor. You found a toggle in the wild! That in itself is very cool. I’ve never seen one in person.

How can this be? You seek out vintage AS, and you’ve never picked up any Avon until now? There are so many great scents in their lineup.Believe it or not this is the only Avon I own
I know, I have for the most part been consciously avoiding Avon since my early wet shaving antiquing experiences over 10 years ago. I had an entire bottle of Avon island lime drain out in my work vehicle. The smell was nice at first, but then as then became nauseating. For some reason after that, I equated their bottles with cheap and poor quality. Mostly from the bottle leaking out(likely my fault) and because there was so much of it still in the market, much of it new. I need to give them all a try! Thankfully they are cheap! How can this be? Which scent is in the teepee?Awesome Avon Teepee I found. Believe it or not this is the only Avon I own! Found on Friday as well.
