Antique Store Finds

what do you think of the Kriss Kross i saw one not long ago and was curious about them...
It’s really clever and incredibly well designed but I don’t know how well it would work for anything other than GEM style blades. The instructions call for keeping the leather clean and even say to rub in lather “often”. I’m just now learning they made and sold a razor to go with the stropper AND they sold them in a set! I think if you find one in your collectors price range get it BUT only if it’s in the condition you want, they aren’t easy to restore so don’t think you are going to buy cheap and fix. You can get them really cheap if you are patient. I know I had a second one at one point (maybe made by another company) but can’t find it.

colgate barber shave powder. Unlike the Williams soaplets made for lather machines this stuff is meant to be lathered with a brush. A little goes a long way and it is very versatile. It isn’t as crazy slick as Williams’s but as long as there’s wet lather on your face it’s slick enough to shave. How do I know all this? I brought the FULL container home with me. Also brought home the silver scuttle in the background and put a new knot in the handle. I’ll be reselling that at some point, I just couldn’t see leaving it there for some Lady to buy to use as an Art Deco bird feeder

Can't wait to see the scuttle/brush after their rehab

Williams also made a shaving powder. I have a few containers of it. But none of them are as big as that colgate container.

GREAT!!! Now i need to search for a Gavel.
Ugh, I could have gotten that one for you.. I've always said, if you have a hobby, profession, or interest then there's probably an Avon bottle to match. I have my own gavel decanter, because the officers in a Masonic Lodge use gavels as well.
