A Spartan's Tale

I can’t go wrong with it…is it an excellent knot. Very similar to a Simpson CH2 synth. I can’t remember if you have one or not. If you don’t, I wouldn’t recommend one as it would be so similar to your CH2s.

I do have an Evo and it is a great knot. The real sleeper of a knot is the Trafalgar T3. It is a fantastic knot at a fantastic price

Yes, I think I made a mistake getting the T2 instead. It just isn't high enough lofted for me...I think the Chubby idea isn't ok in a 24mm knot. I thought I was being efficient...I only get 24 or 28mm knots these days that I plan to put in one of my own handles. That way I can use a 1" or 1 1/8" forstner bit on the lathe to drill out the hole perfectly and then hold it with an expanding collett chuck of the same size when I detail the bottom of the handle. I only own those two sizes of collett chuck. Pure laziness masqueraded as efficiency...
I do notice you didn't mention the Thater in terms of high end synthetics...🤔

Moved on to my last OC DE. Is this '13 R41 clone an OC? I think so. Whatever it is, its one of the most aggressive blade feeling shavers in my den. No pressure needs to mean no pressure, imho. Solid results, minus a tiny amount of sandpaper left on the lower right neck.
My apologies for the discrepancy between pic and write up- I didn't end up changing the Astra out of the razor to the GSB as planned. That was a mistake...will rectify for tomorrow.
Have a great day all!

That makes sense to me on the knot sizes. No the Thäter is my least favorite synthetic knot. It feels prickly to me.

Lovely fragrant shave, Jason! I really like my MrEE knurled aluminum handled brush. I have mine fitted with a hybrid knot that performs well for me.

Two back to back 3 pass shaves with this '13 R41 clone is enough, methinks. It is such an efficient razor- I definitely felt a little raw early this morning.
Looks like I can finally see the bottom of this tub again. I fully expect it to regenerate itself tonight, though.😅
One side effect of using this Endurance so often is that the bottle of Shulton is very nearly finished. I do have a spare, though.
Have a great day all!

Shave soap does seem to regenerate overnight. Even more so as the jar approaches empty.

The R41 can easily irritate! My 2011 model definitely requires careful monitoring! Glad the shave overall went well!

A very nice shave with a fave scent. For me, there is a SV 'Big 3' of Desert Vetiver, Felce Aromatica and this one. The few others I've tried or own are just a step behind. This Oumo doesn't look like it would load so great, but certainly punches above its weight class. A pleasant way to start a Friday...

Fabulous shave with a great kit, Jason! We must be on the same wavelength! My New Improved is on the schedule for tomorrow’s shave!

A pleasant 2 pass weekend shave. Took the advice of @primotenore and rode the bar with this shaver. Results were fine, as they were with riding the cap and negating pressure.
Probably not shaving tomorrow, so this ends Open Comb OCtober for me. It was a great month of shaves with fave shavers.

Have a great night all!
