A Spartan's Tale

The stuff is made here in the East Kootenay region. The Kootenay River goes back and forth across the Canada/US border before eventually draining into the Columbia. The Southeast corner of British Columbia is known as 'The Kootenays', but more specifically, where the river comes across the border (out of Montana) near the Rocky Mountains is called the East Kootenay and where the river goes back across (out of Kootenay Lake, into Idaho) 80 miles or so to the west is known as the West Kootenay.
If you stayed awake for all of that, you have my condolences...;)
Good stuff.

I've gone from a Z0 to a Floating Head to this simple, humble Tech. Still got very good results.
The brush is new and is a homage to @primotenore 's Milk Churn, which I've always admired. I have no idea what type of wood the burl is, but it sure was checked and full of voids. It took two resin pours to get it where I wanted it. The Resin is black with some metallic copper toned powder added. I'm happy with the results.

Another very nice shave with the humble Tech today. Switched it up and took the soap to a bowl, which I rarely do anymore. Still built the lather on the face, fwiw. Had a public meeting this morning and 'blessed' the group with a splash of the Shulton cologne on top of the AS...;)

Great looking shave Jason. You could have went with Tabac and Clubman knocking the group out for the count.

Could you imagine splashing on a healthy dose of Clubman and then putting on a mask? I might not have recovered….

My first and only time using the nasty stuff was with a motorcycle helmet. I gave a healthy splash and went for a 3 hour motorcycle ride wearing a full face helmet. I thought I would die. I came home and poured the bottle down the drain. My wife, Swati, threatened me with loss of valued body parts if I ever brought anything so vile in the house again. :ROFLMAO:

At least your drain got cleaned….:p

What are your thoughts on the Veg, Jason? Since I‘ve been using Humphreys Lilac WH, I‘ve found it to be not as off-putting as I used to.

I’ll allow disrespect to the veg, mitchell’s wool fat, Arkos… You’ll get no offer that you can’t refuse, The family will turn a blind eye- but Pete’s Barbershop in Maryland insists in homage for the Pinaud!

I’ve actually never tried it, or smelled it for that matter. FWIW, Pinaud products are not as readily available in drugstores here in my part of Canada. Other drugstore stuff I can get here? Brut yes. Old Spice yes. Proraso yes. Aqua Velva yes. (Or what passes for the modern ‘version’ of 3 of those, anyway).
A friend risked the wrath of the USPS and Canada Post to send me a bottle of Florida Water and an oz or so of Clubman several years ago as part of a bigger package. The Florida Water stayed, the Clubman didn’t after a few tries.
…and yes, all jokes aside, I did smell it in the pipes for at least a week…

On my list for continual disparaging:
Arko
Tabac
Clubman
On SWMBO’s:
Stirling Gentleman (a whole ‘nother level of hate)
Stirling Mountain Man (I kept the soap, but quickly splash something else on afterwards)
