Le Galion - Eau Folle
Have massively cut back on purchases, but couldn't say no to Le Galion's new masculine powerhouse herbal freshie. And glad I didn't I'm really starting to like these more (to my nose) brash masculines, and this pretty much is as close to what I've been looking for forever as I think I'm going to get.
There's a wormwood note that makes this more of a green scent, but something I think a fan of things like, dare I say Sauvage would like.

Love it! Nice, bright opening of green citrus that morphs into an herbaceous lavender/slightly bitter floral notes (the tarragon is fairly strong but not overpowering). Don't think oakmoss is listed in the scent notes but to me it's there. Wonderful drydown with the vetiver and patchouli. The scent pyramid lists clove in the base but I don't detect any (may just be my post-COVID altered sense of smell). Love the vetiver in this. Vetiver and I have had rocky history but I really like this.

Oh man that sounds great, you can't have too much tarragon for me, it's a favorite note. Clove and carnation are actually often the same aroma chemical so sometimes clove can actually be a bit floral depending on the formulation. So maybe your nose isn't playing tricks. TBH I don't put a lot of stock in note pyramids anyway, they don't really have any relation to what's actually in the formula much of the time.
