Hey how was this blind buy?
I did blind buy Enclave. Feels like a lightly minty/chocolatey frag with some spiced wood underpinnings. Excellent performance just like my other 2. I’m happy with it!

I think Beach Hut will be next, once the wallet recovers a bit.

You won't be disappointed with Beach Hut's performance either. Enclave sounds interesting, I have to see if the local dept store has it, and give it a sniff. I didn't realize that Djhenne today SOTD had mint so it has a similar combo with lavender, mint, cocoa, so if Enclave is similar, it's a winner. I guess, I really am on team mint, I have so many mint focused frags now.

Saw it for an amazingly affordable price ($110+ tax&shipping) and I simply could not resist. I had a sample of this about 7 years ago and I was mesmerized by the Bamboo note that adds a distinctive touch to the Habit Rouge line. Still get the smooth Leather, floral, vanilla and woodsy notes that are staples of this line but, there is an encompassing bitterness of citrus up top with pink pepper that leads into a cool, delicate yet masculine Rose, Jasmine & Patchouli accords that are simply divine. Only a house like Guerlain can produce something this gorgeous and call it sport without it being a true sport scent. This is pure elegance, sophistication and just class of the nth degree. A true masterpiece to my nose.

I like Pinaud Lilac Vegetal, so thought I'd try to create a Witchhazel with a Lilac scent. This Lily of the Valley essence oil combined with Thayer's unscented Witchhazel works excellent. Even better than Lilac Vegetal. Dont use a Witchhazel that has alcohol because it can totally change the scent. Dickenson Witchhazel (alcohol)won't work. Messed up the scent really bad20241128_121859.jpg

This house has been around for a few years & I've only sampled them recently within the past few months acquiring a discovery kit I purchased from them earlier this year. And to be quite honest, they are producing some absolute wonderful scents all based in one shape, form or another on Oud. Every scent is refined and quite smooth with no barnyard or skanky type of Agarwood-Oud in any of their creations. The creations are more centered around a western take of Oud over a middle eastern type of style. Made here in the US by some talented perfumers. This is my 2nd purchase from an online discounter (well under $100 US for top niche level quality), Smoky Citrus. Low level Oud (not in quality, just not strong or pungent) that is present from start to finish but, surprisingly with a very fresh and clean feel to it from the citrus and a very smooth almost cool like feel from the Eucalyptus & mineral notes. There is a subtle but clean leather, oakmoss & Patchouli accord that comes in about halfway through the wearing without disturbing the Oud & citrus notes almost dancing around each other very smoothly. An easy fresh Oud Scent that can be worn year round with relative ease. If one is interested, I strongly suggest obtaining samples or a discovery set and determine which ones agree with your tastes. Truly though, they create some fantastic quality fragrances with quality bottles & packaging.

The wife, shockingly, wanted a good perfume for Christmas, and unshockingly Pierre Guillaume released a new leather scent, opening up a whole new category in his catalog.

Fro the Mrs. Irizia Pearl, hidden from view of course.

And for me this manly gem. Totally not what I normally like, it's got a heavy dose of butch woody armomachems but Pierre has a way with things, and I love it. It's the green leather that tilts this for me. I can see any guy liking this.

I've spent the past two days in Sydney for medical treatment, and yesterday the flight home was delayed just enough for me to scoot into one of the fragrance outlets in the airport. No time for fluffing around trying samples so I just grabbed this as it's had some decent reviews.
