Your Latest Fragrance Purchase

No. Had to order direct from France.
That's what I figured, Beauty French I hope.

It looks they have it back in stock, but say down to their last items. It's the best place to get it, as the price is good and free international shipping.

Found a good deal on a partial of this guy…earlier formulation thankfully, should last a little longer than the current:

And that completes my Homme lineup! Now begins the real work…using and maintaining…definitely going to be a growing challenge as some of them are discontinued.

Parle Moi de Parfum - Wake Up World
!!! BLIND BUY ALERT !!!
I’ve had my eye on this for a while, PMdP is one of my top houses, and often resurrect classic fragrances with a modern touch, high quality ingredients and outstanding performance.
Hearing that it’s a masculine, fougere like fragrance meant it’s my dream come true.
I’m not sure on either, but it’s fantastic, weird and wonderful, unlike anything I’ve tried, yet supremely wearable.
Opening is a minty lavender thing, with red apple in the background. the minty aspect is very dry and the apple pleasantly sweet, the two create are really wonderful effect.
PMdP always have playful names, and this really seems like just the kind of scent that you’d spray to wake your self up in the morning, the spicy minty thing just feels like wake up juice, and the apple, that cheerful person taking the edge off the horror of those first minutes out of bed.
Obviously in our weird times, there’s a double meaning going on here too.

This is my first order from Essenza Nobile, an online fragrance shop in Germany. I’ve been wanting to get more samples, and read they were really good about them.
Well color me impressed. They give you a 20€ credit towards sample with purchase, and the samples are priced according to the value of the fragrance. This means rather than getting 3 drops of a pricier frag, you pay more and get a full, generous sized bottle which they decant into their spray bottles.

Samples:
Frederick Malle - French Lover
Nobile 1942 - Vespri Orentale
Olfactive Studio - Panorama
Ulrich Lang - Apu

They also threw in two great genuine samples.
Diptyque - Eau de Minthe, which I’ve been wanting to try, supposed to be a great barbershop.
Nasomatto - Fantomas

So many houses are stingy with samples, and it always puts me off. Getting two top drawer samples on top, is the icing on a great smelling cake.

Finally received this today:
05.24.2022 Pen's Car Club.jpg

Initial impressions are as I had hoped:
Notes:
Top: Pink Pepper, Swiss Pine

Heart: Cypress, Eucalyptus

Base: Patchouli, Ambroxan Musk,

1st spray from the bottle does give the feeling that if English Fern and Elixir had a Fragrance Baby this would be it. A bit sharper, but the creaminess, freshness and grass are in there. Eucalyptus and Cypress are the big players here on initial sniff.

It has familiarity to one of the 80's power fragrances, but not quite as "in your face" and that of 1000 people within a mile. That is, of course, the original Polo Green. It is much softer and has that wonderful depth that Pen's Elixir is famous for. Further olfactory tickles give a hint of leather and racing gas, but this is fleeting.

A quick wrist spray softens well, but as an EdP some hours later, it is still quite strong but very pleasant. As such, the dry down does scream English Fern in a Cathedral in a pine and Cypress Forest, with Quorum, and Tsar trying to say "Hey".

Even further along the grass notes with the musk walk in the party to give enough breadth as if to say " You know.. I can be worn in colder months too. Eucalyptus is still the boss here, but blended very well. Will wear for a few days to see how it evolves before a review next Sunday.

Overall great 1st impressions as a winner for Penhaligon's. Packaging is per norms with Pen's, and hopefully it will be popular enough to be around awhile.
