Your Latest Fragrance Purchase

I’ve been following Hiram Green for a while now. His house does all natural perfumes that perform great and generally are unique twists on classic styles.
Seeing he’s got a new fougere coming out has me very intrigued. Getting a email saying he’s doing a webinar on the fragrance, where he send out a sample, plus vials of all the ingredients, and will then walk us through the fragrance note by note, was too much to pass up for a frag head like me.

Sample arrived today, now way i can hold out to sample Arcadia till the webinar in a few weeks, that’s getting tested tomorrow!

Sounds like it’s going to be a fantastic experience - enjoy the webinar! But like you said - You’re going to try it our right away lol.

Great pic by the way!

Narciso Rodriguez - For Him

This one has semi cult status for a modern designer. The EDT more so, which was rumored to have a sort of wet asphalt after rain opening. And supposedly a great rainy day scent.
I wasn’t able to locate the EDT but many rate the EDP higher, though apparently they are fairly different. This isn‘t a rainy day scent, and at first I wasn’t sure it was a for him scent either! The opening is very floral aldehydic, that morphs into a musky floral. I was seriously doubting this one, but somewhere in the dry down it sort of grew on me, I wound up respraying and really enjoying it.
For sure this isn’t your baarbershop fare, or even a typical masculine, at first I though it was as masculine as a pink tutu. But that’s the beauty of this hobby, the nose is very adaptive, and well, I look good in pink.

Pink Boi - for Aidan - we’re working on adding “cologne” to his hygiene routine - smells like the bubble gum from a baseball pack or Double Bubble. He likes it and it prevents him from smelling like a teenage boy 😂

And the last couple of summers, I’ve done some bespoke “summery” scents with Ginger’s Garden to get my boozy, citrus fix (or just cocktail colognes)…..

Salty Dog - Just like the drink - Grapefruit, lime twist, gin/vodka with a pinch of salt. This one is a GG original. She had done a Long Island Iced Tea and a Dark & Stormy for me last year - then she surprised me with this one.

Boat House Row: Bourbon, peach, apricot, orange, lemon, nectarine. Now this one is named after one of my favorite spots in Philly. However, if I am being honest, the notes themselves are from a different Philly cocktail called the Liberty Bell - I just thought Boat House Row sounded cooler. I did have a roll-on cologne made up based on the Boat House Row cocktail - it was nice - but basically without trying ended up being almost a dupe of Tommy Bahama for Men. And I have to say @woodpusher and @BarberDave - it looks like whiskey and peach do go together! This scent is fantastic!

Boat house row sounds awesome! I hope Aidan likes his Bubble gum frag!

Le Galion - Cologne Nocturne
Etat Libre d'Orange - Modern Classics Sample set
A few samples of my choosing for the purchase.

I'm in sampling mode now, so specifically bought from this place to get some samples I wanted.
The cologne is pretty fantastic, I had about three drops left in my sample that had been sitting since last summer, the moment I got the scent in my nose, I realized it was pretty fabulous. More when I pop the plastic on the bottle.
