What is New to You...... SPEAKEASY EDITION

I don't think I've had standard offering since they brought back the age statement last year. I do have a bottle of the "red letter" age statement juice sitting in the bunker somewhere. Funny the evolution of the age statement, from the big bold 9, to the smaller red letters, to NAS, now back to the big bold 9!

It's a Beam distillate through and through - so expect some nutty notes accompanied by more standard bourbon ones of vanilla, caramel, etc. It doesn't blow my socks off but at 100 proof, 9 year age stated, and around $26 it's a very solid value pour in my book.
So true! I actually missed everything between the "age statements"...LOL. I mentioned the bottle to a buddy and he was surprised they brought the age statement back...I was like "when did it go?"...LOL.

Wasn’t planning on this one, but ran across a 375 and I need to experience some of the more core scotches out there.

This was my first SM, and it's something I still enjoy. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for a CS Laphroaig, and the Glenfiddich 12 just goes down nice. I visited their distillery while in Scotland back in 2014 and had a wonderful experience. Helped solidify them as my "intro" dram of choice recommendation to people looking to get into Scotch as well as a bottle I regularly have in the bar. Love the 375 size too since I don't reach for it often but when I'm in the mood it really hits the spot.
