Was given this craft gin from my mother the last time she went to Michigan. It's really crisp and delicious. Decided to have a gin and ginger tonight!
Okay, yes...it is amaretto. But it's REALLY good amaretto. @Fenster is familiar with the location, so if you are ever in the area...this is worth stopping by and getting a bottle or two...if they have it any more. What makes this tasty bottle of liqueur so good? Conneaut Cellars/Winery is a place that the wife and I stop at each time we visit her old stomping grounds. Last time we went, they had this amaretto that we tested. They said that they messed up a batch of coffee that they were using for another spirit that was in the works. Not really sure what they were doing...but hey...whatever. They went ahead and used the coffee for an experimental batch of amaretto. And viola! This tasty amaretto has a fairly pronounced coffee flavor with that sweet almond taste that is almost cherry in flavor. It's sweet...but not as sweet as other amaretto I have had. Anyway...it's nice for a sip or two for a nightcap.
No...you don't drink amaretto out of a coconut with an umbrella...silly Rudolph...only knows how to drink waster from a trough!
And it's "Craft" Amaretto!
