OMG that Spalted brush with the fan knot is speaking to me in a deep husky voice.... "Ask him where to find my sister, you'll love her"

Whew...

I received an L’Occitane Cade aluminum shaving bowl with heavy patina this morning. I picked it up cheap, so I didn’t mind 40 minutes of zen time on the buffers to get it nice and shiny again. It turned out great. It came with a fresh puck of Cade, but I dropped my most recent puck in.
For some reason, I could ever stomach spending $30 on just a bowl. Happy I found it though, it is a really nice bowl.

Nice job! It’s a mediocre soap, but I love the scent.

What compound did you buff with?

My dresser top den got a major upgrade today! Two new Theirs Issard 7 razor display cases! Apparently these were discontinued, but the former AOS employees had a couple in her basement. Along with two really nice dense Silvertip Badger brushes and a Dovo Strop.

Saturday morning antique shopping is the best!
I scored this Thomas Ellin & Co Vulcan 🖖7/8 from a local antique shop this morning. It should be an easy cleanup. This is my first Ellin razor, I know they were a famous Sheffield cutler, but I’ve only seen just a few examples of their razors and this one is all quality. I love the faux ivory scales and how they used a washerless construction to make it appear more like the scales are made of ivory(way to sell it guys!). For it’s period, the grind is very thin and it is definitely a full hollow through and through with a slight bellied hollow.
