From the photos and what I can see, it looks like a blade got stuck or something and someone tried to pry the top back with a screwdriver or something. From the other photos though, it looks like the blade still sits evenly and securely. That particular part shouldn't hurt anything as it's not affecting the blade exposure or position. However, hoping someone can clue me in... Is this normal / safe / ??? With the side having the split there? Looks like it's a design, but I can't discount it actually being a break.
Yep, blade appears to be in there securely and correctly. From what I'm seeing in the photos, I wouldn't hesitate to use it as long as the blade sits right and isn't moving.
Actually, now that I'm looking at it again, I think that's where the piece from the blade box slides in to change the blade. Not really familiar with that model, and I can't look at my injector at the moment to compare.Yep, blade appears to be in there securely and correctly. Thanks @ShawnF .[emoji846]
Yeah, that's the side you insert the pin to insert a blade. I just don't know if it's supposed to be split there, for ease of inserting a blade or if it's an actual break. Either way, I'll likely give it a shave soon enough. It definitely seems securely in there.Actually, now that I'm looking at it again, I think that's where the piece from the blade box slides in to change the blade. Oooo, I almost went that route for storing inks and pens. Not shaving, but my daughter got me a machinist chest for an early christmas present.

Would probably work for that. One of the draws of wood for machinist tools is that it along with the felt lining helps to draw moisture away from your precision tools so they dont rust. Not sure how that would work for an inked pen though. I know one of mine doesn't like sitting at all even just on the desk.Oooo, I almost went that route for storing inks and pens.
Just curious... what area is that? My latest invoice form them said their address was in SC.... but the box was shipped from FL..... but I thought they were still in CA???? So confused.Stopped by West Coast Shaving while I was in the area
I remember reading something about them doing reductions in shipping cost by opening up a warehouse in Maryland a couple years ago, so I think they might've expanded on that. I think there's something about it in an AMA on r/wicked_edge.Just curious... what area is that?
