Welcome to the Danger Zone!

Oh, I'm telling her that some guy on the internet thinks my butt should be rubbed!

And for the record...I take more stock in what a nurse says than most doctors. At least about general health. Doctors are often too mechanistic and forget that there is an entire body that works as one! When I said I saw the doc...what I really meant was that I saw my Nurse Practitioner. She actually listens to what I ask her and if she doesn't know the answer she finds out. Every doctor I have ever met knows "everything."

What you are describing sounds like what is going on with my right hip. In my case it is osteoarthritis . It feels a bit like a muscle pull and it has changed my gait so now I get knots in the muscles of my lower back. I also walk with a perpetual limp now.

Go see the orthopedist sooner rather than later.

Okay, okay...since you guys are hassling me about it...I went ahead and made an appointment. It's not for a week...but I actually trust this doctor.

Catching up Don. You are quite an adventurer! And brave to go full cold water rinse. Be careful of the shrinkage though.

Nice shave Don! I think you have me convinced to try that A&E Coco Cubano. I’ll probably pick some up after the holidays. It sounds like a sure fire winner!

Sorry to hear about the hip situation. Hopefully it can be corrected and you can come hang with the young kids again! ???

I think I have some extra miles I could kick in towards a flight to get Dave down there. I mean, we have to keep your health a priority here Don!

That's the spirit...PIF your sky miles so Don can get a butt rub from Dave!

This thread has officially gone off the rails!

Razor: Gillette Slim
Blade: Rapira Swedish Steel (3rd use)
Soap/Cream: CBL Premium Soap - Orange & Frankincense (w/ Hemp Oil)
Brush: Stirling Synthetic
The Penultimate Aftershave: Humphreys Witch Hazel
The Ultimate Aftershave : Fine Accoutrements - L'Orange Noir

I love everything there is about this soap. I love the scent (though I do wish it was a tad stronger...but it's just soap...I'm putting other stuff on with it anyway). I love how it lathers. I Love the slickness, residual slickness, and the post shave feel! I love this soap. Standard three pass shave, several glugs of Orange Dirt...and my day has to be FANTASTIC! I have said it before and I will say it again...While I think all of Chris' soaps are top notch, among the best...his formulation that includes hemp oil is really just amazing...even better than the real thing! I understand that if individuals of the Cadre have an aversion to hemp oil for what ever reason: religion, occupation, etc. But if you have an issue you with it...do yourself a favor. Get with Chris, find out which of his soaps have hemp oil, and give it a try!

The Danger Zone:

So the Danger Zone is going to be a little weird today. Not long. But maybe a bit on the existential side of things. I know that I am known as the weird guy on TSC, and I am okay with that. It makes me who I am, right? Anyway, I have mentioned it before, but I have been listening to this podcast called the Peter Attia Drive hosted by Dr. Peter Attia. I know I listen and read a bunch of things that others might look at funny...but this guy is...as I unfairly like to put it...a Real Doctor. This is from his website:

Peter is the founder of Attia Medical, PC, a medical practice with offices in San Diego and New York City, focusing on the applied science of longevity. The practice applies nutritional biochemistry, exercise physiology, sleep physiology, techniques to increase distress tolerance, lipidology, pharmacology, and four-system endocrinology to increase lifespan (primarily by delaying the onset of chronic disease), while simultaneously improving health span (quality of life).

Peter trained for five years at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in general surgery, where he was the recipient of several prestigious awards, including resident of the year, and the author of a comprehensive review of general surgery. He also spent two years at NIH as a surgical oncology fellow at the National Cancer Institute where his research focused on immune-based therapies for melanoma. He has since been mentored by some of the most experienced and innovative lipidologists, endocrinologists, gynecologists, sleep physiologists, and longevity scientists in the United States and Canada.

Peter earned his M.D. from Stanford University and holds a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics. He is licensed in California (A96452) and New York (281406-1).

Like I said...he is a real doctor. Anyway...I have been reading articles he links to and listening to podcasts and other research. I am seriously enamored with this guy and what he is trying to get across. Sometimes he has a pretty technical podcast that I only understand about 45% of it. Other times...I understand much more. But it's not all medicine related. Sometimes he has on an entrepreneur, sometimes he has on an athlete...research scientists...doctors...health coaches...etc, etc, etc. But it all centers around improving your life the best way possible. Currently I am listening to an episode with Apolo Ohno. Was never really all that interested in Mr. Ohno. But listening to his story there is just so much to learn from his life. But I am blabbering! Let me get to my point...and it is a very VAGUE point at that.

I am on the verge of making a very important realization in my life or a very important decision for my life...I just don't have any idea what it is yet. I am not sure if it will be today, tomorrow, next week, month, year, etc. But it's right there...I can feel it.

Well enough of that for now I guess. I hope the Cadre has an absolutely wonderful day today! It's Hump Day and the weekend is right around the Corner!

Nice shave Don! Sometimes you have a pretty technical journal that I only understand about 45% of it. Other times...I understand much more. But it's not all shave related. And I like that. Just a little editing and it works. Have a great day !!
