Tom's Journal about Shaving and other good stuff

Gotta agree with Dave. But even if you don't open Tom's Haberdashery, you have what it takes to succeed in anything you put your hand to.

I looked at my chin and I am officially getting old. One single white facial hair.

As someone who's facial hair is nearing the 50% gray mark(assuming I haven't already passed it), all I can say is:

Appreciate all the encouragement guys!

So the new brush came in and I showed the wifey. She is impressed by the handmade craftsmanship by Eric. She was shocked the handle was made from scratch. Just look at those grains! Woooheee!!!! Then she looked at the letter and was puzzled. I believe the first thing she said, "Another forum?!" She loves telling stories to our friends that I get random packages from you guys and finds it fascinating since most of us have had no in person interaction. Crazy the evolution of the internet.

Nothing to race about my shave today. Just solid. The Vie Long Epsilon 2 band brush is a highly underrated brush. I believe the hand is hand tied so no glue bump. Hands down one of my densest brushes. Have thought many times to see if I should sell it or keep it. One of the few that ended up as a keeper.

Dr. Jon doesn't get as much love and I have always found the performance reliable. The selling point for me is I love the scent of this one: fruity with a hint of menthol. Nice for the warmer days.

Alright folks, I'll try to catch up on your journals in a bit but if I dont talk to you, have a great weekend!

Have a great weekend Tom. Who plays the piano? At least I think it is a piano in the picture.

Nice set up, Tom. I've tried that Hydra and liked the scent. I believe Dave PIF'd it to me, along with a couple of other Dr. John soaps, a couple of years back. I may need to revisit them.

Great shave and great looking brush Tom! But mine is better looking!

Good luck with the job hunt! Been there done that, bought the T-shirt!

Unfortunately I had to skip yesterdays shave due to certain circumstances, the inaugural shave needed to wait until today. Y'all took some amazing pics. So I decided to do a black and white to change it up.

So no GTB so I used a combo to do it some justice and went with Penhaligons Sartorial.

So I have never used a black synth before and quite surprised on the backbone of the knot. Very impressive and reminds me of a Finest 2 band. A little scritch when doing circular motions and silky smooth paint brushing. Again, the craftsmanship is top notch from Eric and very happy to be part of the gang.

On other news, I went on an errand for the wifey and guess where I went. Never mind I'll just show you pics.

Personally, I just left with the Holy Black Pomade and a pack of Kai blades, but definitely spent a good 15 to 20 minutes sniffing stuff.

Awesome shave. And not sure how anyone could go in that store and spend less than $100

Love that black and white pic...just really nice! And seriously...quit teasing us with the promised land. I am destined to wander for 40 years in the wilderness!

Beautiful picture Tom! Pasteurs blew me away the first time I went there as well...I'm going to have to stop there again on my way through...this time I won't walk out empty handed!
