Long Rifle Hawkeye | Pumacker Black Diamond 4/8” spike point
Currently on Shave #527 | Straight shave #324

Nothing special to report from today’s shave. A normal 3-pass affair with the Pumacker ending with a DFS+ again. The RR 400 was pulled for duty today and did it’s lather flinging thing. The Pumacker was nice and smooth, a change from the last shave with it which was a little rough. No real feedback from the alum, and followed up with the matching AS and some Endymion Concentre. Bring on the work day!

I did measure the soap today. I’m blooming the soap, and measuring after pouring off the bloom water, then measuring again after cleaning the puck off. I started today at 89.1g and ended at 86.7g. Still have a ways to go, but slowly getting there. I’m not entirely sure how much the tin weighs, so I might only have about 30 more shaves on the puck to kill it off, which would put me into mid-August finish date.

Mail call today brought in just a few shaving items…four orders to be exact

From Maggard Razors: B&M Patches soap/AS, Omega Aquae serum, Nostalgic Grooming Clean Cut Citrus Pomade (super water based)

From Noble Otter: The Noir et Vanille, The Trail, Barrbarr shaving soaps

From Stirling: Barbershop shaving soap; Piacenza (X2) and Satsuma bath soaps; Tea Tree, Barbershop, Iced Pineapple shampoo bars

From our friend in the littlest state: Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple (1[sup]st[/sup] Gen) ( I included a picture of the blade next to my largest blade, the Jerry Stark 7/8" french point smiling razor

Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone!

Josh, Nice shave and enjoyed the video. May have to check out A&E as I've never used it. Felt a dig and no blood is a good save.

Thanks Dave...I'm turning into a bit of a fanboy with the A&E stuff since their performance is so good, and he scents them pretty strong. So if you find a scent you like, you don't have to try to search for it with your nose to get a healthy whiff of it.

Now I am definitely Sold!

It's worth picking up a soap or more...just be sure it's the goat milk formula. If you go through their website, they list all the ingredients in the listing for each soap.

nutmeg. A scent I despise. I might need to pass on that one.

There's always at least one dissenter. LOL

Great shave and pic. Summer Fig sounds like something I should add to my "to buy" list.

It's quite nice! Thanks Doug!

Pay no mind to this naysayer Josh!

Great shave!

LOL, Chad's perfectly entitled to his opinion, though since he thinks some soaps that are wonderful (SV's Stella Alpina) smell like tumbleweeds, I'm inclined to not trust that nose of his. Must be that thin mountain air getting to him.

Great stuff as per norm Josh!

Thanks Craig!

Great shaves and mail call.

Thanks Don!

Nice shave. Yeah just a few items come in. Lol. Pretty straights!!

Thanks Dave...I was a little naughty to the wallet last month. LOL

Nice entry today. Looking forward to your thoughts on the new soaps.

I'll get to each soap eventually. LOL...right now I've still got 3 WWSC soaps (reserve No2, Aces & Eights, Rose Dunn), 2 A&E soaps (NYC, Little Fictions), 1 Oleo soap (Sandy Cheeks) then the Noble Otter (X3), and B&M soap to review...so it'll take me into mid July to get through all of them. Not going to review the Stirling Barbershop unless I'm asked to.

Would you mind reviewing the Stirling Barbershop ? just kidding, I couldn't resist. I'm that one in every crowd.....

Good stuff Josh!

Man I haven’t done regular bath soap bars for a while. My wife sells shower gels through Mary Kay so of course I’ve been having to use those. How do you find those bath soaps to be? Pretty good or about as good as a bar of Ivory or something? Lol.

Chris,

They're pretty darned good, and the fact that they come in Stirling's scents make them better, IMHO. My skin actually feels clean (not slick like after a shower gel). I'm almost positive they are sulfate free. I know the shampoo bars are.

Great to know! Thank you good sir!

Ariana & Evans Little Fictions | Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple 8/8”
Currently on Shave #528 | Straight shave #325

Thoroughly enjoyable shave this morning, even with a little blood loss. Another new soap, (familiar soap base), in Ariana & Evans (little fictions). This is a very nice scent, though not one that is overpowering or incredibly strong. That’s not because it’s lightly scented, but because it’s a light scent. I’ll get into more detail in the video and written reviews. The Shavemac whipped up a beautiful lather, and I broke out the Fili for its maiden shave. Speaking of the Fili, I was excited to use this not just because it is a Fili, (that IS a reason), but because it's sporting an edge by Alfredo. This would give me an opportunity to compare the edges that I'm able to get against his. Also, I thought this was a 15/16" blade, but when I measured it it came in at 26mm, which is a full 8/8 blade. YES!

First pass went by without incident and on to pass two. While getting close to my mouth on the left side, I shifted my lips just a hair, but that was enough for the Fili to bite. I thought it was going to be more of a bleeder than it was. The alum closed it up for the most part, though I did take the styptic to it to make sure that there was no lingering leakage. Outside of that, I’m sitting at another DFS+. Almost zero feedback from the alum or aftershave. Topped off with the matching AS, A&E’s serum, and some Blenheim Bouquet to round out a great shave.

The edge on the Fili was incredibly sharp, (evidenced by the cut), but still very smooth. But, it's not that much more than my edges. Proof is going to be in the pudding tomorrow, as I'm planning on using the Ragg, pending me getting the stones out for a refresh tonight.

I want to get this posted now, so if there is mail, I’ll post that up a little later.

Without getting into details, I’m going to ask for some prayers for my eldest daughter. She ran into some medical problems last night that we are still waiting on resolution for. Thanks in advance guys, you’re awesome.

Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone!
