The Wild West Show - Jim's Shaving Journal

I just can’t believe he didn’t hide a bingo call in that video.... I was looking for it!

Thanks for all great responses! I honestly thought about hiding a bingo call in the video, but since it was a quick post to share with family I had to pass. Don't worry though, I can assure you I will try something sneaky soon.

But what will it be?

Today's Shave - "Kansas City Southern"

Brush: Raven Brush Works Willow Wolf
Soap: Summer Break Picture Day
Razor: "Doc Holliday" - Asylum RX SE (Feather Pro Guard blade)

Finally a proper SOTD!

I am particpating in a passaround in the East Coast Wet Shavers group on Facebook. Up last night was Picture Day by Summer Break Soaps. The soap is a tallow base, and it is a medium firmness in the tub. The scent is an interpretation of a traditional barbershop scent, with lavernder, bergamot, black pepper, tonka bean, and other delicsiousness. It was a sturdy scent with a touch of pleasant sharpness. Strength of scent was 3/5 from the tub, blooming to 4/5 during the shave.

The lather from my bowl was right in the wheelhouse of what I expect from a good tallow soap. The slickness was very good, and the cushion was above average. With still voer a dozen shaves on the Pro Guard blade, I got a BBS in 2 passes with cleanup. Post shave comfort was not quite what I look for, so I had to splash on some Skin Bracer as soon as the shave was over to cool it down.

All in all it was a terrific shave with a scent that really turned my prop.

Today's song is a terrific Red Dirt Country toe-tapper!

My apologies Jim I was a bit behind, but I’m caught up now. Great shaves and exciting things going on at the home front!

No apologies from me !! I was behind , but it was because of chasing down Bingo Calls ? Nice reads Jim

Getting Caught Up Jim, some great stuff

Thanks, gents!

I had a terrific shave on Saturday night with my Fougere Gothique. I have to say it is my favorite "dark" scent, and very appropriate for the approach of Halloween.

I got a shipping notice for my Jekyll and Hyde set, so hoping to have it for this weekend. I may not get to use it until Sunday, because SWMBO and I are headed out of town for Friday and Saturday nights. I will be sure to eagerly post my impressions once I crack the box open!
