Off to work at a client site for the day. I just love commuting in Atlanta rush hour while its raining. Not! At least I was able to get in a great shave before leaving the house. The shave was uneventful which is the best kind for me. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Great photo, Clint! Glad the Denali’s working well for you! I do see the minor differences from the RA.

Happy Friday Everyone. I have not used this brush in a long time so I just had to pull it out. Two friends and I went to Bob Quinn back in 2016 with a request to make 3 matching brushes for us. This Desert Ironwood Beehive was the result. That is why I refer to the brush as the "Tres Amigos". The knot on the brush has great backbone with excellent flow through. It is really a joy to use face lathering. I went with the Rex Ambassador this morning. Three passes and touch ups tucked the baby in. I did have to buff my lower right neck which is a big trouble spot for me. Off to my office for the day. With any luck, I can get out with a half day. Take care and I hope everyone has a great Friday.

So my friend, the jury’s out! How’s the RA stack up to the Denali? And none of that “please don’t ask me to pick my favorite child stuff”, Clint! 😉

There really is not that much difference between the two razors at all. Having said that I would say the RA is the better choice. The RA has the better handle and blade loading. The Denali is a touch smoother.

They are similar. Once I got past the weight of the Pearl it's smoother and maybe a touch less aggressive. I know the Pearl doesn't have quite the blade feel. You are welcome to try the Pearl just send me a pm and I will get it sent out to you.

AOS Bourbon Shave Cream

Happy Saturday Everyone. It is just damp and cool here in the ATL. So I went with something that makes me think of warmth. Bourbon. I absolutely love the stuff. My family knows me very well so both both the shave cream and aftershave have something to do with bourbon. I am very lucky that the my wife and girls embrace my wet shaving hobby. When Asha was in Tempe working on her masters she would go by Wet Shaving Products and pick out soaps and aftershaves she would like me to use. AOS shave creams just work well for me. I usually get 1 or 2 each year as gifts. This one has the scent of bourbon over a woody base. I like it but its not my favorite bourbon scented soap or cream. I dialed the RA up to 6 for the first pass today. This razor has a lot of blade feel. I find it more aggressive than my R41. After the first pass I dialed it back down to 3 which is good for me. Three passes and touch ups tucked the baby in. However, operator error result in a little leakage. Thankfully the alum took care of the problem. A splash of the Small Batch Shave Tonic left me smelling fantastic. I plan to relax and watch some college football today. The highlight will be the GA/FL game in Jacksonville. How I wish I were at the world's largest outdoor cocktail party today. I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. Take care and stay safe.

Great RA shave, Clint! I usually do my dome at 6 and 4. Now if I could only find a shave cream that smelled like Makers 46, I just might move away from MWF! 🥴
