The Heysi Missive

An email went out today:

"Just a reminder:

Please help us to accommodate our co-workers and clients who are chemically sensitive to fragrances and other scented products. Thank you for not wearing perfume, aftershave, scented hand lotion, fragranced hair products, and or similar products.

Thank you"

It should be noted that it wasn't me. But I have learned who the "chemically sensitive" person is.........and they're entire brand is being outraged by something everyday. The most recent outrage (before the scent police got involved) was demanding that everyone call them "Sniper" since they legally changed their name to "The Incredibly Accurate Sniper"....and I'm not even kidding. I'm all about letting people do whatever makes them happy....but this seems like a step too far. Plus now I've got to go back to being on the downlow with my aftershave.

Is anyone hiring Drafters/engineers???

Are you sure their BS isn't emotionally stressful for you? I think you might need a call to HR and some free vacation medical leave.

Or that scent-sensitive person can be given Reasonable Accomdations in the basement (says the guy with the super-sensitive wife)...

Lots of progress made this weekend on the house. Cleared out the shed (the movers snuck some stuff in there when I wasn't looking....grrrr) and got to setting it up for the eventual storage and Christmas boxes that will go in there. Freeing that area up allowed me to move forward on the boxes in the dining room area. The kitchen is nearly complete.....except we haven't found our dishes yet!! We've only had 2 casualties (a pint glass and a drinking glass) so far. Its slowly coming together and once the boxes are cleared, we're going to start working on improving the house. A master Bathroom remodel is in the plans and the kitchen expansion is shaping up on paper (my wife and I being an interior designer and a drafter are helpful in this area). And I'm working on plans to add some raised planter boxes for vegatables....probably next year.

I'm also trying to get my Mustang moved over to my house (It's been parked, on jacks, in my mom's driveway since we started this whole process) but people keep knocking on her door and asking if it's for sale. At some point (hopefully) I'll have it running and back on the road to the restore I had planned when I bought it (20 years ago!!).

Shave Journal:

Same bat time....same bat channel.

I'm about 25 shaves away from 100 on the single puck of Williams (I fell about 12 shaves behind @Spider because of the move and being too tired to shave each morning.....I was pretty beat each day) but I'm back on track and the 100 milestone is rapidly approaching. The puck is still holding up and it will get much more than 100 shaves out of it. Its currently about 1/2 inch wide and the puck is about an inch wide when you take it out of the box......it could possibly give 200 shaves from one puck. I will have to see how long the puck lasts.

See ya Later!!

Ooooh!! Deets please!

Sounds like things are coming along nicely! And your mom will put you back on the family birthday card list once she gets rid of the car headache! 😂

It's a '69 coupe (not the fast back). In-line 6 (so not the typical muscle car) but no rust and very clean. I need to restore the interior and the Ford Artic White paint needs to be refreshed. I'm just hoping to get it running for the time being. Luckily, I know a mechanic and he loves working on classic cars......so I'm also hoping that the price will be beer and BBQ.

Last night I sat down with some of the lemons from my lemon tree and I made lemonade. Totally nailed it on the first try. 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water to make simple syrup. Juiced 5 lemons (they're a bit bigger than store bought) and filled my pitcher with cold water. Perfect blend of tart and sweet. Now I only have 30 lemons left to juice.......oh and I found a new lemon this morning....so 31! I'll have to buy a better juicer and I'll have to learn how to freeze some of the juice I get.....but looks like I'll have fresh lemonade for the rest of my life. Nice!!

Got a few ebay items yesterday (no shave gear). Got the wife a new phone case. We picked up new phones a few weeks ago and my wife likes having a protective case...so now she's squared away. Mine is on its way from who knows what direction it took. I still don't get how something I order from the state next door has to go to some midwestern town to be sorted so it can head back here to vegas. I mean, I could drive to california and get it and be back home before it arrived in Kansas City. Who runs the postal system? But on a happier delivery note: my Rancho Cucamonga Quakes jersey arrived. We have tickets to go to a Quakes game on mother's day weekend and since they're the Single A affiliate for the Dodgers......gotta root for my guys.

Shave Journal:

Please see the previous several journals for any details as they have not changed.

Seriously....I'm just chugging along with the 100 day Williams shave challenge and I have zero complaints. I will admit that I never expected the blade to last this long. It's at 78 shaves and it's still holding up. The Williams puck is a little over half gone but I'm not worried about making it to 100....it could go to 150, easy.

See ya Later!

Mmmmmmmmmm... Lemonade!
