That’s great you are on such good terms with your ex! Life is so much easier with less drama!

And congrats on getting the cruise booked…I’m sure it’ll be a blast!

She's only an ex-girlfriend. And we haven't spoken in 25+ years. We were friends before we dated and we tried to stay friends afterward but other friends conspired to keep us from continuing as friends. Now that we're adults and know that we can do what we want without having to get the permission of long since forgotten former friends (but permission from a spouse) we've started to talk as two old friends would. Its kind of refreshing. I feel bad that I wasn't able to help her through the past 4 years as her husband got sick and passed away. Its weird how different things are when you're not 18 years old and unaware of what the world has in store for you. But yeah......less drama is such a better way to live.

For a first date - wow you Southern Californians date a lot differently than what we did over on the East Coast 😂

Excited for you and your wife for your Cruise next month - gonna be a good time!
Its been fun re-remembering some of these memories. She thought it was an actual date and I recall that it was where I asked her to go to the movies for our first date. So its a bit of semantics on that one.

Been waiting for a vacation for 3 years now. I'm gonna chill so hard.

Been quite a week so far here in town......there was a running gun battle on the streets of Las Vegas between a carjacker and police that ended with the suspect crashing headlong into a K9 unit (the officer and K9 were uninjured), the suspect (who was shot at over 50 times) was also uninjured. At least he's behind bars and facing a mountain of charges and no one was hurt by his adventure.

In Vegas sports news: Our women's NBA team is headed to the playoffs, our Raiders are 2-0 in the preseason and our Vegas Golden Knights starting goalie is out for the entire season....which doesn't start for 2 more months. And to think....we didn't have any professional sports here less than 6 years ago.

On the home front: finally getting our refund from the IRS....only took them 5 months!!! And we always file early. Guess someone put ours on the top of their desk and then added everyone else on top of us. Maybe last one to file gets the first look these days. Still.....it makes our upcoming cruise a whole lot more enjoyable when you have extra money in the bank for it.

Today's Shave Journal:

I've gotten into a same old-same old situation for the moment....not that that's a bad thing...but I know that it would make a few of you lose your minds if you used the same hardware and software every day for the past month. CBL Hombres soap..Semogue boar brush....RustBoy....Gillette Silver Blue (shave #47).....alum....Nivea 2:1. I know that all of those kids play well together and I come away with a happy face and I smell fantastic......so for now.....that's my morning. I'll change things up once the Hombres runs out. I just hope it doesn't anytime soon. Its such a great soap.

See ya Later!

Great news on the return finally being on its way! Always nice to get a little kickback!
The wife outdid herself this year on the refund. She was originally going to be an accountant so she took tax courses in college......then she went to fashion design school. She can color match anything in the world....but she can also do your taxes.

IMO, it's a good thing. Find a winning combo and stick with it. For me, it's all about the shaves, not the stuff. :)
I was a single razor, blade, soap, brush guy for so long that its been a bit intimidating with all the new stuff. But I really want to enjoy what I have and not just switch from product to product without really getting to know what I'm working with. Kind of like a happy medium of more stuff but less switching it up everyday.

We're now 29 days out from our cruise!!!!! Been crossing stuff off the planning list and getting new items for the trip. I've had several Amazon deliveries of stuff that is only useful on a cruise ship. Also found out that they changed the procedures for covid testing and vaccinated passengers no longer need to take a pre-cruise test. It was one of the few things we hadn't scheduled yet (but had plenty of research on). So now we're one less item to take care of for that week.

Both the wife and I have been on a low salt diet lately (her doctor's orders...well, not for me but I'm being supportive) and we've both lost over 10 lbs. Feel much better and I've been drinking water like a guy that lives in a desert. I might even start walking around the block here at work again.....when its not 100+ degrees. There's no way I'm fitting into my old Jedi robes if I don't lose some weight. So that's a future consideration. Want to be back down to 160 lbs by next spring. Slow and steady wins the race.

Todays Shave Journal:

See the previous Shave Journal .

Seriously.

I haven't changed anything in probably two months. I'm not complaining. Its good to find trusted products that work well every day. I'll be changing it up when the current soap runs out. (which I'm going to buy more of soon....that Hombre is good stuff).

See Ya Later!
