Desk Tour #2
As seen yesterday.....there are several Avatar items on my desk (most 3-D printed). The stack of tiles is the symbols of the 4 Nations of the Avatar universe. Also right next to the tiles is the outline of Appa, the sky bison and a green dice with the 4 nation symbols and the symbols for the Kyoshi warriors and the Order of the White Lotus.
I love trains and since I grew up in Los Angeles, I'm a fan of the Pacific Electric railway system. It was once the largest urban railway in the United States and it was torn up before I was born so I never got to ride on any of the trains. But when I was a kid, I did see them dump some of the old cars into the ocean to make the breakwater off Redondo Beach.
My daughter was a Rainbow girl, its the girls organization for the daughters of Masons and her final statewide office was Grand Hope and she gave me a rock with the word Hope on it after her term ended.
I worked for an architectural firm here in Las Vegas and one of our clients was the Caterpillar dealership and I was involved in doing the drawings for the buildings (one of the few things I drew that actually got built), so I picked up a tractor to commemorate that accomplishment.
The baseball is from the Minor League team here in Vegas, currently called the Aviators (after Howard Hughes...his company co-owns the team). This was one of only two foul balls I've ever caught. This one was on a bounce. The one in my bar at home was caught in the air.
Wall-E was one of the first things I printed on our 3-D printer at work. The people in the sales department broke him.
Minions are always fun and hilarious.....and you have to have more than one. Their newest member of their team is Grogu (or baby yoda)...he was 3-D printed.
Obi-Wan has always been my favorite Star Wars character. He was perfectly played by Sir Alec Guinness and is equally as perfectly played by Ewan McGregor. I chose him as my TSC profile pic because I like him and I thought the idea of someone who might need to shave with a lightsaber would seem funny.
Also in the photo but not labeled:
Another Millennium Falcon because....why not?
Some business cards from Big Dogs Brewing....I was hoping to do some tenant improvement drawings for them since I was told they might be expanding their brewpub.
