It is different and I got it and the balm at a get together held by Top of the Chain. Do really enjoy the scent.More power to you, Ed. Not a fan of minty soaps myself. I like it in candy and gum, though.
It was a really good one but the razor is a beast.
Thursday, a little closer than Wednesday to the weekend but not quite there yet! Autopilot shave was needed so the Gillette Rocket HD which has patiently been waiting its turn got called up. Loaded up with a Gillette Rubie.
RazoRock Saturnia was the soap of the day with the matching AS. Powerful scent but I love it and as Fall approaches next week it’s perfect for this time of year in my opinion.
Lovely three pass BBS shave with no muss or fuss. Clean smooth and comfortable. Alum block indicated nothing at all which with the Rocket HD is to be expected! Topped it off with a healthy spritz of Bvlgari Man. Well that was quite a nice shave indeed. Enjoy your day and your shave! Stay safe.

Nice shave, hermano. Hooray for the approach of autumn. I think I might be a little more welcoming to cooler weather this year.
Hermano it is my favourite time of the year. Lots of walks planned, chillin out on the back deck and BBQ.
Happy Friday and finally the weekend is upon us! Well, soon enough anyway. Suns out and there is work to be done first. Reached for the AS-D2 this morning as I wanted to enjoy another wonderfully mild shave after yesterday’s vintage Gillette Rocket HD shave bliss. Loaded up with the same Gillette Rubie Platinum blade.
Soap of the day RazoRock Gold with the matching AS. Warm spice, citrus, leather and amber in abundance with this one. Addictive I say. Great soap and one I wouldn’t mind using more often.
Three passes and back to BBS. Lovely relaxing shave this morning. Reached for the Prada Amber Intense to finish it all off. Smelling....like Gold. Enjoy the day!

Welcome to the new week, may it bring us joy and good health. I love Sundays because that is all about family and squeezing the last bits of the weekend out in the company of those you hold dear. TSC is very much about that and I had to miss the zoom call to tend to my family. Missed you guys though. Monday however brings with it a fresh start.
Today’s shave included some very fine things and scents I enjoy. The AS-D2 continues to impress and today I reached for it again. Exceptionally well made and a joy to use. Loaded up with a Precision Super Stainless today. More on the blade later.
Soap of the day RazoRock Nomad with the matching AS. Strong scent blend of creamy woods and warm spices. It is quite nice and I can pick out some sandalwood, cardamom and white musk. The rest I leave to those with a better sniffer than I. I like it.
Lovely three pass shave and smooth as can be. The star though of this shave was the blade. Yes the AS-D2 is a mild thing of beauty but the alum block indicated nothing at all.
Precision blades are an off brand version of Personna made in Israel. I have a couple of 10 blade tucks of these. They are polymer coated and identical in marking to “Viking’s Sword” blades also made by Personna. Very smooth and sharp as would be expected from any good new blade. I have read that with Viking’s Sword the shave quality diminishes after the second shave or so. I will stick with this one for awhile in the AS-D2 to see if the polymer coating is what is making it magical.

It is a wonderful razor and I can see why it has a following. I know I certainly enjoy mine! Last weekend of Summer and we had some time together to celebrate.

Hump Day and the middle of the week has arrived. I don’t mind Wednesday as I treat it as the tipping point...all down hill to the weekend! AS-D2 again today loaded up with a Precision SS on its second use. Really want to see how this polymer coated beauty will do. Last shave with it in the AS-D2 was stellar!
Soap today Ariana & Evans Cafe au Lait. What a great scent filled with rich milk chocolate and coffee goodness. Not the new base but this soap lathers so easily, is super slick and just makes the shave so good. The matching AS carries the same great scent and is great skin food post shave.
Slow and leisurely was the shave all the while enjoying that chocolate & coffee scent. Four passes (why not?) and a beautiful BBS finish. Again the Precision (off brand Personna) performed admirably. No issues noted from the alum block and smooth and comfortable as can be. I don’t know if I would say they are any better or worse than other Personna Blades or that you could find them in numbers large enough or at a cheap enough price to buy in bulk but I got these two tucks of 10 at a thrift store and they have been very good so far.
Now to finish it all off I reached for D&G The One. I believe the tobacco and ambergris in the base notes allows it to go so well with the soap and AS. Just a great match for me.
So there you go a great mid-week shave! Hope you all enjoy the day and stay safe!

I love CBL Breakfast Blend which is a strong coffee scent and of course a great soap. Incidentally, it will be up on Friday but this A&E soap is so good scent wise. Chocolate and coffee creme. It is a great soap base though I got it awhile back and I don’t think it is the Kaizen base but if A&E does make it again in the new base it would be one you should look at for sure.

EVERYTHING they make/have now is the new base. I haven't found a coffee scent I like as much as Catie's Bubbles Irish Coffee yet but looking for a better base. Pif'd that tub to my stepdad. I'll no doubt get this one when I get the den count down some more
