Well I haven’t had a shave since Friday July 5th...vacation has a way of doing that to you. First day back at work and time to get that sorted. iKon Deluxe OC was the perfect tool for this job and loaded up with a fresh Personna Lab Blue it was efficient and super smooth. I have been on a run of iKon gear lately with some more joining the collection.

Soap of the day was Stirling Executive Man a great at work scent and inspired by Creed Aventus...enough said. Great performing soap as all Stirling soaps are and topped off with the matching AS just a great start to any day. Chubby 1 whipped up a luxurious lather and off to work getting rid of the scruff!

Beautiful two pass DFS/BBS shave was achieved this day. The weight of that bulldog handle and the Deluxe OC are a match made! Finished off with some English Laundry London EDP (which is a Creed Aventus like scent - by my nose) and off to the office.

Enjoy the day all and happy shaves!

Looking for an easy shave this morning and the Aristocrat Junior is as easy as they come. Loaded up with a Crystal SS this particular razor just autopilots a clean and close shave.

Soap or cream of the day was Gillette Pure which is new to me. Took very little to whip a great lather in the Fine lather bowl and quite a good performer. Great clean barbershop scent, nice slickness and a great price.

Lovely two pass DFS was achieved and topped off with some Clubman. Perfect start to the day.

Happy shaves all!

I love trying new stuff and today it’s the iKon X3 slant matted to a 80mm iKon bulldog handle. Very nice indeed. I own the Merkur 37C & 39C and enjoy them when they come up in rotation so I was looking forward to this one. Loaded it up with a Super-Max Blue Diamond Titanium and set about the shave.

Today’s soap comes from CBL Soaps - Ghost Pineapple which is a mentholated tropical smelling dream of a soap! So easy to lather and such an amusing scent. Cushion, slickness - amazing. A bunch of CBL Soaps have come to the den and I am looking forward to trying them all.

Set about the shave and between the absolute smoothness of the X3 and the scent and performance of the Ghost Pineapple what started out as a two pass “trial” ended up being a three pass BBS finish! Reached for the Stirling Weekend in Malibu AS which is a perfect match and nirvana achieved. Quick spritz of English Laundry Tahitian Waters EDP and we are ready for Saturday evening!

Wow, all the days chores rewarded with a fine shower and shave. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Take care, safe travels and happy shaves all.

How is the Yaqi, Ed? I've looked at it but have not pulled the trigger yet. Can you post a family shot of it by a couple of standard brushes to give me a grasp on its size? (e.g. Duke, Chubby, etc..)

It truly is a great brush. Somewhere around 24mm Tuxedo knot, soft and splays well with good backbone. Handle is just right and it dries quick. It’s a looker too!

Also have the Yaqi SF. Great little lather maker! On level of a Plissoft, if you’ve ever used one, but softer.

I have not used a Plissoft, @GearNoir , but was down to one of three brushes on my "next" list:
- Yaqi Sangria (Yeah, I know that is not it's name and I've been to "Don't mind him; he's from Barcelona" 🤪) or a different Tuxedo
- Yaqi Timberwolf (my understanding is that this is not simply a colour inversion of the Tuxedo, but is more "make-up brush"-ish tips)
- RR's Bruce

I have two of the three. No Yaqi Timberwolf...RRs Bruce I find soft and floppy.

So I so thoroughly enjoyed the iKon X3 slant last time out I reached for it again this morning. Quite glad I did because that smooth initial shave was readily at hand again today. Smooth shaver indeed. Again, I used the Super-Max Blue Diamond and it was quite comfortable in this razor.

Soap of the day Barrister and Mann Tuesday (yes, I know)...just something so apropos about the wonderful smell of lavender and violet on a sunny Tuesday morning in the Summer. Love the soap, performance and scent. The APS Shave Co 24mm Silk Smoke worked its lather voodoo nicely. Quiet soft with good backbone this one.

Set about the shave and decided on a simple two pass shave vs my normal routine of three. With the grain and against. Again, a BBS finish with one less pass. The X3 is now King of my slants.

Take care and happy shaves all.

Nice looking set there Ed
I have been very impressed with the X3 so far. I have a 37C and 39C and lean more towards the shorty of the two but this X3 is super smooth and balanced really well on the 80mm Bulldog handle. Wish I knew what the secret material the head is made out of....
