Had an interesting adventure yesterday. I'm part of a Facebook group called "Weird Secondhand Finds That Just Need To Be Shared". It's a community of picture sharing of odd finds that we discover at Antique and Thrift stores. Outside of the Wet Shaving community, this is my other main hang out. These folks are my people!
So the other day, someone posted the following two pictures. They happen to be from an Antique Store that I frequent in my town. I was instantly intrigued.

Wait, what? Let's have a closer look.....

Huh? WTF is that? Looks to me like a dog head on a doll body... but I don't know, maybe I'm just seeing things. What do you see?
Anyway, these pics yielded lots of comments. Most about the fact that it's super freaky/spooky/scary, and definitely haunted, and how they wouldn't even dare to venture down that ramp for a closer look. The FB group has over 1 Million members, but I was still surprized how many folks chimed in saying they were from here, or at least knew of that particular store. One person even posted a nearly identical picture saying they saw the same thing, and was about to post it themselves!
Anyway, you know me, I love the creepy stuff and I had to see this for myself. I knew exactly where this was in the store, so after work Amber and I headed to the store to check it out. When I got to the top of the ramp, this is what I saw.......

Headed down for a closer look, and found this Doll. Yep, same doll, same clothes as the original pic, but that's not a creepy dog-like head that I saw in the original pic. So, what's up? She doesn't necessarily look creepy. What am I missing? We searched all over for a dog-like mask, thinking that maybe someone put something on top of the doll, but we found nothing.

So, we continued to shop. We found a bunch of interesting things. And I found a few things that just had to come home with me. Including the following:

So, as we are checking out, an a whim I decide to tell the lady about the group, and the pic of the doll and see if there is any story about her. She tell me that that doll moves around "on her own" all the time. I showed her the pic of where I found her, and she said that that's where she belongs, but that's not always where they find her. OK... now I'm really intrigued. She wasn't terribly expensive ($22.50), but I wasn't initially interested because she didn't look that creepy and just looked like a plain doll. Well, this story added to the interest factor enough for me to consider purchasing her (even if it wasn't true). So I asked about the mask.... she said, no there's no mask. That's just her. But I didn't understand why she looked so different..... where was her face? I contemplated this, and decided that I needed to take the chance at least, on this "haunted" doll. So I went back to grab her, and I kinda set her up where she was in the OP's pics to try to figure it out. I was in a hurry because the store was about to close, so I didn't take any pics of this process, but I did figure it out. I'm pretty sure that in the OP's pic, the dolls head was turned around backwards, and we were only seeing her hair, and not her face. (This just added to the creep factor, slightly)
