The 2nd Annual Williams Mug Soap 3017 Challenge!

I am not sure how many shaves I have left. The old-school, barber style milk glass shave mug that I am using is just wide enough for a puck of Williams or a puck of Colgate. It is the kind of mug that one would use to build the lather on top of the puck. I haven't figured out how to do that yet, but then again I only use this mug for Williams. I think it constrains the brush enough that I will probably go close to 30 shaves on this puck, but that remains to be seen.

As for @Spider's crazy idea about seeing how long a puck will last, I will probably sit it out. I have 31 pucks of Williams in my stash and I use up only one a year right now. When I use them in the future, I will probably hate load them less than I have been with this one, but I am not going to go to extremes. I could probably get close to two months out of a puck of Williams without trying too hard.

Although, if anyone wants to do a true shavepocalypse shave, along with stretching the Williams as far as it will go, I suggest doing a single razor, blade, and brush along with it. Call it the Minimalist Williams Shavepocalypse Challenge. I wonder which would give out first the soap, the blade, or someone's sanity?

Well, aside from the using a different brush a couple of shaves, that’s what I’m doing now. Doing the 3017 and the one blade challenge together, I have had a lot of similar shaves. My only real variance is the aftershave.

Yeah, like @Spider I’ve shaved this month using pretty much the same kit:
Semogue SOC Boar Brush
Seygus Razor
Nacet blade (on shave 23 at this point)
Williams Mug Soap (courtesy of the generosity of @dkeester )
Aqua Velva aftershave (basically alternating between the US and EU versions).

I’ve had a blade go to 113 shaves, doubt I could stretch this puck to that long and enjoy the daily shave (But could probably find a soap that could do it, like Martin de Candre).

Bowl lathered this morning for a change. Well, more like "built lather on the puck" as my concoction is in a Fine Lather Bowl. Ended up very nice and perhaps once of my most non-dissipating Williams lathers ever.

As someone that does this exact challenge nearly every day......its not that bad.

Williams Day 23
So I had one last great day with the Williams. Got a nice looking lather one last time.

But the puck afterward looks like I might not have enough soap for another shave.

I’ll probably take a sliver of Mitchell’s Wool Fat that I have and try mixing the two together tomorrow morning for one last Williams Shave.

The Proraso Pre/Post-shave has really done an excellent job in converting my modern Williams into something usable. The lather is now very dense and yogurty, which is not something I normally go for, but works very well here. A few more days left in February and my Williams is looking to extend into March.

Used what was left to create some slickness on my skin, but not enough there to build a lather. Got the job done for one pass SAS. Based on this morning’s shave, I might skip out on the “how long can you stretch a puck of Williams Challenge” since it was shaving but not my usual enjoyable experience.
Ridges in my empty bowl reminded me of:

Big break-through to the bottom of my Williams this morning! Woohoo!!! Hopefully, it will be done on Wednesday ... but as Tevya was wont to say "on the other hand..." , I have been getting some excellent lathers since blending it with the Proraso Pre/Post shave ... but you're sick of hearing that by now LOL.

If my estimates are correct, I have a little over 6g of soap left, which will put my puck right around 30 shaves when completed. Last year's grated puck that I had soaked for 2 days in Skin Bracer only lasted 22 days, so it's obvious all the liquid soaked up in 2021 really increased the usage per shave compared to just the ground puck this year.
